||Chapter 3: Skelebros||

Your POV:

You wake up, surprisingly warm, with a huge headache. You look around to see an unfamiliar home, it's nice though.
'Wait, how did I get here?'
The thought made you panic.
You jump at the sound of laughter.
"heh, how was your sleep, sleeping beauty?"
You see Sans, chuckling next to you.
"I- It was good, thanks.."
You sit up, feeling slightly dizzy.
"hey slow down, you were pretty chilled to the bone."
You let out a small laugh, then it hit you.
'What happened anyway?'
"Hey Sans, what happened?"
You tilt your head over to him.
He let out a small sigh- how? You have no idea-
"you fainted, probably because you were snow cold, heh. So I brought you here."
He shrugs as he explains. He looks over to you with a smirk.
"well, you could thank me by telling me your name."
'Oh yeah! I never told him my name."
"Sorry about that, I'm y/n!"
He laughs
"Y/n huh? That's a nice name."
You felt yourself blush at the compliment.
'Wait- blush??'
You look over to Sans who wears a concerned look on his face.
"hey kid you alright? you're looking red.."
He reaches his hand out and places it on your forehead.
"Y-yeah I'm fine! Just a little dizzy, that's all."
You reassure him and his smile widens.
"alright, if you say so, i trust you. "
You smile at his words.
You felt your stomach growling.
Your eyes widen and look at Sans.
'I- he's laughing'
You hide your face from embarrassment.
"Haha, kid if you were hungry you could've said so, I'll take you to Grilbys."

Today was very fun so far!
You met some of Sans' friends. And Sans told you a bit about his brother, Papyrus. He apparently really likes puzzles and spaghetti. You're excited for the puzzles that's for sure.

You and Sans were exploring Snowdin, since you missed a whole journey. We will be seeing Papyrus soon. Gotta admit, you're a little nervous.

A deafening laugh snaps you out of your thoughts.

"NYEH HE HE! WELCOME HUMAN! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS CHALLENGE YOU TO PASS THESE PUZZLES!"
You stare at Papyrus, giving him a confident grin.
"I will solve your puzzles with ease!"
Papyrus's smile widens, Sans stares at you confused.
"NYEH HEH HEH! SO BE IT, HUMAN! ME AND MY BROTHER HAVE MANY PUZZLES WAITING FOR YOU!"
You grin, preparing for the upcoming events.
'This'll be a piece of cake.'

Needless to say, the puzzles were pretty easy, even when Papyrus doesn't give the answer away. There was one puzzle where you had to change all the X's to O's, you probably messed up once, but the skeletons seemed surprised.

"NYEH HEH HEH, YOU MAY HAVE BESTED ME HUMAN. BUT THIS NEXT PUZZLE WAS MADE BY MY BROTHER, SANS!"
You were kind of excited to see Sans' puzzle- wait-
"Is that a crossword?"
You were honestly puzzled.
"SANS WHAT KIND OF PUZZLE IS THAT!? THE HUMAN COULD WALK RIGHT OVER IT!"
Papyrus complains.
You pick up the crossword.
'Seems easy enough.. Half of these aren't even words.'
You look up to see the two skeletons still bickering.
You giggle
"Do any of you have a pen?"
The two stop and look at you.
'Did they not expect you to try?'
Suddenly Papyrus smiles.
"NYEH, OF COURSE I HAVE A PEN! A FUTURE ROYAL GUARDSMEN MUST ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS!"
Papyrus trods to you and hands you the pen.
"Thanks Papyrus."
You look at the crossword and fill it in. You look up to see both skeletons stare with awe.
'Heh, what goofballs'
You snicker silently and hand them the crossword.
Their faces seem to be a mix of confusion and awe.
"So... How about another puzzle from the great Papyrus?"
Their attention draws back to you.
'That worked faster than I thought.'
"NYEH.OF COURSE, FOLLOW ME HUMAN! NYEH HEH HEH!"
You laugh as the tall, energetic skeleton sprints away. You walk up to Sans, who's wearing a smug look on his face.
"heh, you seem to have a thing for puzzles, thanks for making Paps happy."
'Hm, perfect opportunity for a pun...'
You smirk and let out a laugh.
"Yeah it's cool, I've done a ton of puzzles before.. Hehe.. A skele-ton.."
You die of laughter at your own joke, Sans joins in soon after.
"hahaha, oh kid, I had snow idea"
Sans replies with a wink.
"Hahahahha, oh my god! Icy what you did there! Haha!"
"Pffftt kid that was horrible."

Sans POV:

Surprisingly I had a fun time with y/n.
But I can't get the thought out of my head.
'Where is Frisk?'
'What is so different about this timeline to bring y/n here?'
I guess I can't change anything now anyway. A reset is bound to happen.
I guess I just have to enjoy these moments.

We cracked a couple of puns. And went to do more puzzles with Paps.

Honestly it was fun.
After the puzzles. I needed to speak to y/n.

"hey y/n, you have a second?"
They look at me, eyes full of concern..
"Yeah of course, what do you need?"
I hold onto their hand and we appear in front of Grillbys. I swear I could feel my face heat up..
They seem a bit shaken up. My bad.
"heh, sorry bout that...I just really needed to talk to you.."
They give me a small, comforting smile. Heh.. I could stare at the smile all day.. Wait. What am I talking about.
"It's fine Sans, what did you want to talk about?"
I let out a shaky sigh..
"y/n, you're about to fight my brother. Don't do something you're going to regret."

I would've said more. But it would've led to a skele-ton of questions. Heh.
Me being the coward I am, I dissapear and watch.

Your POV:

Sans dissapears  in front of you
You still need to figure out how he does that-
You stand up and continue onward.
You don't need to worry about Sans' warning.
You walk on the snowy path until you reach a clearing.
A sudden fog appears in the area, making it extremely difficult to see.
A tall figure lies ahead.
"Papyrus is that you?"
You slowly walk closer to see the figure.
"HUMAN... I HAVE GROWN TO ENJOY YOUR COMPANY. BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CAPTURE YOU, I'M SORRY, WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS..."

You enter a fight with Papyrus.

The fight begins.
You do not want to hurt the skeleton you call a friend.

"Papyrus! We can be friends, please I do not want to hurt you!"

The skeleton hesitates before attacking.
You manage to dodge the first couple attacks. Until something unfamiliar happens.
A blue bone!? What do I do??
You run away from the bone.
Big mistake.
It cuts through your shoulder, the blood painting the snow red.
You scream out in pain and agony.
Papyrus's eyes widen with sadness and regret.
"HUMAN! I.."
Your vision goes blurry as you stumble to the ground.
You smile at Papyrus; who's eyes are filled with orange tears..

"It's okay...I forgive you.."
You drop to the floor.
.
"y/n!!"

All you see is darkness.
But you hear.. Voices around you. . . Sans..?

"y/n! Wake up! Come on... Paps! help heal them."

You feel arms wrapped around you... You don't want them to let go..

You feel warmth surround your body, your soul, much like how it felt when Toriel healed you..

Your eyes lift open..
