Texting Him

Raelyn's P.O.V.

We got back to my house around nine thirty and got comfy so we could lounge around doing whatever. I kept staring at my phone. I put the note inside my case so I wouldn't loose it.

"You do know staring at it isn't going to send that text to him right?" Amber remarks.

"Ha, ha, ha, very funny. Yes I know that, I'm just pondering what I'm going to say. I don't know maybe I'll text him tomorrow sometime." I sighed and looked up at her. "Maybe this is just a bad idea all together because of Madison."

"Cut the oh I'm going to bother him crap and oh no what about Madison. Just text the freaking boy already." She lectures.

"Okay okay jeez." I pick up my phone and wonder what I'm going to say. "But-"

"No buts just do it." she says cutting me off. Once again I bring my phone into view, take the cover off and grab the note. I put his name in there and his number and then start a new text. After about ten minutes and Amber yelling at me to 'just freaking type something' I decide to just say something simple.

Me: Hi its Raelyn.

Jeez ten minutes just for that okay here goes nothing. I hit send and immediately ten billion things go through my mind on how I could mess this up.

Jack's P.O.V.

I got home kind of regretting not getting her number again. What if she doesn't use my number, I mean I told her to but that doesn't mean that she's going to actually use it. Oh well I guess I'll just have to hope. Just then my phone when off.

Unknown number: Hi it's Raelyn.

She used it oh thank god. I couldn't hide my smile and Johnson noticed.

"Did she text you?" He asks.

"Yea. Wait how'd you know?" I question.

"Dude I'm your best friend don't you think I know you by now."

"True true." I look back at my phone and reply.

Me: Hey

Raelyn: Hi

Oh no this isn't going anywhere and I don't know what to say. We texted 'hey' and 'hi' to each other about five more times until she finally said something else.

Raelyn: I'm sorry this isn't going anywhere. Lol.

Me: No no it's ok. So Friday?

Raelyn: Yes.

Me: So where are we going.

Raelyn: I don't know. You asked me out.

Me: Ok not the beach we've already been there. So your telling me you don't have anywhere that you go just to hang out or to think.

Raelyn's P.O.V.

Oh my gosh did I have to say that he asked me out. He obviously didn't mean it like that because he's got Madison. He's obviously just hoping to hang out and I just screwed this all up. Oh god this is why he isn't replying. Just then my phone lit up.

Jack:Ok not the beach we've already been there. So your telling me you don't have anywhere that you go just to hang out or to think.

I did have somewhere I just think but I've never shown anyone. It's a place where I go to think about stuff or when I just need to get away because no one knows where it is. I don't know if I want to give up that place yet even if it's Jack Gilinsky.

Me: Nope.

Jack: Ok I may have a place to go.

Me: Ok? Shoot.

Jack: Indoor go carting.

Me: Sounds good. So what time?

We worked out all the details and then just talked until we kind of just stopped. I'm currently laying in my bed and Amber is on the floor on her phone.

"Next Friday at five, we are going indoor go carting." I said smiling.

"Ooooh Raelyn's got a date. Is he picking you up or do you have to drive youself." Amber says jumping on the bed.

"What does it matter I don't want him to know where I live so soon and um no we're just hanging out. I'm not about to be the other woman." I defend. Crap she made me think, I guess I am driving myself, great, this is just great. Wait what am I saying no this is okay, just friends remember.

"Oh so you are just hanging out, crap. So tomorrow do you you want to do homework together, I can't believe that we've got a test on Monday." Amber says but I just can't concentrate I was too happy. I can't stop thinking about his remark 'bring that smile with you'. His smile, it kills me- Amber shook me out of my daze "Um Rae are you even listening to me."

"Uh what? Oh no sorry." I said frowning to try to show sympathy, but I was too happy.

"Yea whatever." We talked for the night and then eventually drifted to sleep, it was a long day.

The next day I couldn't seem to concentrate on anything I was antsy. We did our homework and Amber went home. It's going to be a long week.

Heyyyyy it's Erin!!
