Ultimately, your very long day was starting to come to an end. You stared out the window of your room in disbelief. The stars failed to keep your thoughts at bay. How long will you be able to keep up the act? What will happen if Dream finds out that you tricked him?
"Rose?...Rose!?"
You jumped at the second call of your voice, turning to face the culprit, "Yeah?"
You turned to face Dream who leaned against your door frame lazily. The sight of him in your bedroom causing butterflies to erupt in your stomach as you approached him feigning confidence.
Deciding to tease him, you quiped as your strutting figure made him straighten up. "Are you lost? Or have you forgotten we aren't sharing a room?"
He shows no emotion before a mischievous smirk decorates his lips as he cocks his head to the side. "That's true, but-" He pulls you to your bed. Swiftly sitting you down on top of him with a bounce from both your weights from the mattress below.
He leans in, his hot breath against your neck. "It is our wedding night after all."
"D-Dream...?" Something changes in him suddenly, your anxious whisper being confused for freight. The corner of his lips quirks down before he takes a deep sigh and then releases you. He gently moves you off him, leaving your confused form to stare as he trudged to serve himself a drink from the glass bottle filled with intoxicating dark brown liquid on your nightstand.
Your mind began to wander. So, he wears his mask in the bedroom too? Just what is he hiding behind it? Is his appearance that shocking?
He turns to you with an empty shot glass in his hands, "Would you like some?"
You nod as you get up from the bed and accept the glass he hands you. Taking a sip of the strong grassy liquid you couldn't help but stare at his mask with curiosity. Without thinking your hand started moving up towards it, "The mask..."
"Don't even think about it." He snapped, grabbing onto your wrist firmly with his free hand. "You may be my partner now, but if you dare remove my mask without my permission, you will pay the price for it."
"So, I'll never get to see your whole face?"
Dream grumbled in response, "I'll make sure it's the last thing you'll ever see."
You looked away from him, voice lowering, "I understand...sorry."
He let go of your wrist staring down at you in silence before confessing, "You remind me of Y/n." Causing your head to snap back up at him in shock. "While others choose to look away or ignore it altogether, it was the first thing she pointed out."
"She didn't mean to!" You burst out to defend yourself, "You surprised her when you crept up on her when she was clearly trying to crawl away."
Dream leaned into you, "How do you know the exact details?"
