"C'mon Mase just ask her!" Ben groaned as he smacked the young footballer over the head, taking away the trance you had put on him since you walked into the room. "I don't know what you're talking about bro..." Mason tried to laugh off the awkwardness, but every time he would try and focus on Ben his eyes would somehow trail back to you... something that has been a reoccurrence now since you started at Chelsea!

"Of course, you don't" Ben laughed, taking a seat next to him, his own eyes going to you as you laughed along with another colleague. You had first started working for Chelsea 6 months ago as a new member of the digital media team and it was safe to say you had already made a big impression with most of the team! Although he never admitted it to his teammates, Mason couldn't get you out of his head even after the small number of conversations you have actually had.

"I think you should just do it, rip the band-aid off and ask her on a date! What's the point in waiting any longer!" Ben spoke, a little bit to loud for Mason's liking as he shushed him "Shhhh... mate, she could probably hear that!"

"So, I'll be doing her a favour, it's not like you're going to ask her anytime soon is it!" Ben chuckled. Mason couldn't help but sigh at his best friend's words, knowing that he was probably right "It's just-" Mason stopped as he let out a quiet groan "I just thought she might y'know notice that I like her... and then she'd ask me.."
Ben froze for a second before bursting into fit of laughter, causing Mase to jab him in the side "You really have been single for a while haven't you?"

"What's that go to do with anything?" Mason questioned, raising his eyebrow up at him. "Mate... first, some girls, especially girls like (y/n) prefer it when a man asks them out. I don't know why! But they do... makes them feel wanted you know!" Ben's words did make sense, Mason knew you weren't the type of girl to throw yourself at guys or an extroverted person. You were more of the type of girl to sit and wait for someone to start a conversation with them, you were actually quite shy... it being one of the many things he actually likes about you!

"Also, how is she suppose to know you want her to ask you out when you don't even speak to her!?"

"I do speak to her!" Mason protested "I said Hi to her yesterday!" Ben raised his eyebrow at his lame response "Oh wow, because nothing sounds like I love you more than a hi.." Mason groaned as reality hit him... he was officially screwed!

Hearing his name being called, Ben shot up, patting his best friend on the shoulder as he gave him one last pet talk "Listen, bro, just go speak to her... if it doesn't go well then you can just go back to hiding from her. But you need to give it a chance!"

Mason knew Ben was right, he couldn't deal with his feelings any longer if he just kept them hidden from you! But he just didn't know how to do it... his last relationship ended in the worst possible way & since then he hadn't really been the type to fall for a girl. It was more of causal hook ups than romantic date gestures... the idea of being in love again absolutely petrified him... but so did the idea of never giving you a try.

Noticing your friend was now gone, Mason somehow built up the confidence to walk over to you, but as his feet carried him closer to you he instantly regretted, spinning on his heel to turn around hoping that you hadn't noticed... but you did!

"You okay, Mason?" You smiled, causing a blush to appear on his face as he turned back to look at you. "No.." He spoke, causing your eyes to go wide with concern "No? why what's up?"
"Nothing I-I'm fine.." He stuttered, feeling the panic building "Sorry, I meant to say yes... I don't know why I said no... sorry!"

Giggling you shook your head "It's okay... you got me worried for a minute I thought I'd done something wrong!"

"No, not at all!" Mason smiled, sitting down in front of you "I just wanted to say hi..." He breathed out, like he was unsure himself of what he was saying. Looking you in the eyes again he sighed "Hi.."

"Hi..." You laughed, your own cheeks heating up with a blush at how awkward he was acting. Not wanting to make him more embarrassed, you went back to typing on your laptop hoping that it would make him feel more normal. "(y/n).. can I ask you something?" He spoke up, wanting to break the tension he had built. "Of course you can!"

"It's just I have been watching you for a while now..." Mason sighed, not even knowing how bad it sounded until your eyes grew wide "Not in a creepy way of course... just in a normal way " Not saying anything you just nodded your head, despite not knowing how 'watching someone for a while' could be considered normal but you could tell how nervous and didn't want to make it any worst "What I'm saying is that you look nice... like very nice... and I know we haven't spoken much but I'd like to get know you, for you and not just how pretty you look... because you look really nice and I think we'd get on great! So what I'm trying to ask is if you wanted to hang about sometimes... just you and me?" Mason breathed out a sigh of relief at finally getting it off his chest, but he didn't realize how badly it went until he saw your flushed face, trying your best not to laugh. "What?"

"You haven't done this in a while have you?.." You giggled, giving him a small smile as you watched his cheeks flush even brighter "Is it that noticeable..?" He groaned as you instantly nodded your head "Just a little..."

"Oh god... I'm sorry (y/n)" He sighed, standing up "That was so embarrassing and you deserve better than this... I'm just going to go." Before he could run away, he felt your smaller hand grab his stopping him in his tracks "Mase... you didn't even wait for my answer?" You giggled as his heart burst at you using his nickname... something he could get used to "I would love to hang about with you sometime.." You smiled, pecking his cheek gently "We just need to get your chat up skills less rusty..."
