"Omg, Who's calling you bro?" Ben laughed, as Mason's phone lit up for the fifth time since they arrived back in the changing room. Mason didn't have to answer... his friend already knew who it was as soon as he saw the deep blush rising on the young player's cheeks& it could only be one person that could give him that reaction... you!

You and Mase have been best friends since you were born, your mothers passing the torch of being childhood friends. With your families being close and you only being born 2 weeks apart it was inevitable that you were bound to be inseparable... it was like you were born for each other! In every corner of your career, the other was there! From being on the sidelines of his first match to being front row at your graduation... you didn't do anything apart. As the years passed by and his success blossomed, your friendship started to become the centre of attention, not only to his growing fanbase who questioned your closeness but also to your colleagues, who didn't hesitate to tease you both. It was clear as rain that you are both smitten with each other, from the subtle touches to the stolen hidden glances where you looked at each other like you were the only people in the universe. However, your love was remained caged off, both of you to scared to unleash it incase it went wrong... somethings are better left unsaid and untouched.

Mason's finger hovered over the answer button as he contemplated whether to take the call and be teased or ignore it and miss the chance of hearing your voice. Noticing his hesitation, Reece laughed "Just answer your girl, Mount..."

"She ain't my missus..." Mason mumbled, hitting his friend over the head as he walked past "Not yet anyway.." His comment set off a sea of 'ooooo's' between the boys, as they began their teasing. "Oh, fuck off..." Mason chuckled, flipping them off before closing the door behind him immediately phoning you back.

The phone didn't even make it to the first ring before you answered "It's about time! I thought I'd have to send out a search party for you!" you joked, causing him to chuckle lightly. "Stop being dramatic (y/n), I'm at training..."

"Training?" You questioned, even though couldn't see you he knew you were looking at your calender "You don't train on wednesdays?..."

"I do recently, they changed the schedule over..." Mase spoke, a smile evident on his face as he pictured your reaction in his head.
"Are you lying to me mount?" You quizzed curiously "Cause if you are, it's not nice to lie to your best friend?"
His heart dropped as you referred him once again as your 'best friend' He knew it shouldn't, but he couldn't help it... not when you were edging closer to making it more than just best friends...

"I'm not lying!" He chuckled "Give me one second, I'll prove it.." Without giving you time to reply, he hung up, immediately face timing instead. His heart burst with love as he saw your face pop up on his screen, your hair pulled back into its normal messy bun, glasses perched up on your nose and your body was covered by the royal blue jersey that he knew had his name displayed on the back. Even at the times when you put barely any effort in you still looked like the most beautiful girl in the world to him... nobody compared!

"Earth to Money Mase..." You sang, as his gaze lingered a little longer than it should, causing a blush to rise on both of your faces. Your voice snapped him out of his trance as he looked at you a little startled, causing you to giggle "There he is... you back with us now.."

"Shut up!" He cackled, giving you a glare before switching the camera to show the room "Look! I'm at training like I said! I'd never lie to you..."

"I knew you would be!" You smiled "You told me the other night you were going to be in all week..."

"Why did you question me then?" he pushed with a grin on his face as he noticed it was time to finally leave.

Smiling at him shyly, you blushed "I just wanted to see you..."
Your words caused butterflies to erupt in his stomach, almost tripping up as he left the ground.
