Sleepover Part One (girls)

Juvia POV

My mind was blank. I knew he left and closed the door behind him. But besides that I had no idea what just happened. I let my emotions get the better of me. I shouldn't have yelled at him saying that we weren't friends to begin with. I am surprised he still wants to be friends, no become actual friends, after me being so rude to him. I sighed and head to lock the door when I hear another knock. I opened the door to see Lucy and levy looked at me perplexed.

"Why did we just see gray leave here?" Lucy asked concerned

"Are you ok Juvia!?" Levy asked worried.

I sigh and reply "Juvia will tell you , come in"

We settle into the living room with Lucy and levy on the sofa and me on the armchair . They looked at me in anticipation.

There was no way around this.

"Juvia confessed her love to gray sama today-"

I was cut off with gasps followed by questions.

" was gray mean to you when you told him?" Lucy asked," If he was I swear I will get natsu to beat him up!"

"Is that why you are avoiding him? Did he say he didn't wanna talk to you again?but that doesn't explain why we saw him leave your place awhile ago. " levy added.

I reply " gray sama was nice to Juvia, he said that his past has made him the person he is and that he doesn't really think too much about love and doesn't have feelings for me but would like to remain friends. Juvia decided that she doesn't know much about gray sama and realized that Juvias love was not as true as Juvia believes . Juvia doesn't know anything about gray sama. Juvia told gray sama she needs space and has been avoiding gray sama today."

"Juvia your love is true , you don't care about what darkness is in his past and you rather see him happy than dwell in that darkness that is his past. You strive to make him happy even though you know there is that small chance he won't return the same feelings. Love is about caring for someone over yourself , if what you show for gray isn't love then I don't know what is."Lucy said while throwing her arms in the air.

" I understand how you feel Juvia, you want to know him better before you feel like you deserve to say you love him, but if you asked for space why was he here?" Levy asked.

I look at levy, nothing gets by her does it.

I looked towards the window before replying " Gray sama wanted to make sure Juvia was ok cause we are friends. Juvia snapped at him saying we weren't friends because Juvia doesn't know anything about him and he was just a classmate. Juvia also told gray sama that if Juvia wasn't in all his classes he would not even talk to me. Juvia was so mean " I break off into a sob.

Lucy and levy come over and hug me before I continue

" Gray sama was kind still. He said he wanted to get to know me better. He asked me to give him a chance to be a true friend. If Juvia wanted to be friends with him, Juvia needs to tell him by Monday. Juvia doesn't know what to do "

Lucy and Levy looked at each other before facing me again.

"Why you so unsure? Is it cause you don't know about his past?" Lucy asked.

" yea kinda... Juvia is not even sure" I replied

"Well we can help you with a bit of it, I know a bit of stuff about him, he told me some stuff once" Lucy replied.

I perked up, " please tell me Lucy san!"

" I don't know too much I just know that his parents were killed by delioria a demon that terrorized his town, he was found by Ur and trainer with her to learn ice magic. He thought he could defeat delioria based on what he learned but failed and his teacher Ur defeated it for him but died in the process. Ur was like a second mother to him. That's all that I know to be honest" Lucy said.

His past was full of sadness , I am sure his parents loved him unlike Juvias parents , must have been hard to lose them, Ur included. Maybe that's why he doesn't want anything to do with love.

"That would probably explain why gray doesn't really get romantically involved with anyone you know? It kind of makes sense, I read somewhere that people distance themselves from other based on traumatic life events. Maybe he doesn't want to get too close to people to a point it will effect him if he lost them too" Levi said.

I felt like half of the load on my shoulders and heart had been removed.

" maybe gray sama cares too much to lose Juvia " I replied being a bit more optimistic than I have all day.

" that's the spirit Juvia! You be friends with him for now! Who knows you might change his mind!" Lucy supported

" or By being friends with him Juvia will be able to get over him without any regret of what ifs and all. Being around him and more herself instead of her fan girling self might make her move on " levy countered.

Lucy retorted " my way is better, it's more romantic "

Levy rolled her eyes " my way is more practical and more likely to happen"

Lucy stood up" no! Juvia will win over gray's cold heart!"

Levy stood in the arm chair " Juvia will be happy without him and finally find the guy she deserves!"

I laughed at them arguing over me.

" Juvia will be friends with him and see what happens from there. You two don't need to fight " I said ending their feud.

They looked at me relieved and happy that I was back to my normal self.

We got down to actually enjoying the sleepover.

I teased them with natsu and gajeel respectively. They both denied it.

" you soooo like gajeeeelll" Lucy said to levy.

" if I like gajeeeelll then you are in LOVEEE with natsu!!!" She countered turning red.

"Whaaattt no!!!—"

I drowned the rest of the conversation and looked out the window at the steady rain. I didn't create it, the beauty of it caught me lost in thought . Am I ready to be friends with gray? Will I be able to handle it? I shake my head and pray that I am not making the biggest mistake of my life.
