CHAPTER 14: TRUTH

"AHHHH!" Uki shouted as he awoke, head hurting from sitting up fast. His breathing uneven and his heart thumping loudly in his ears. The dream felt surreal and Uki can't help but tremble at the memory of it.

"Uki!" Shu shouted as he rushd towards Uki's side.

"Wh-What happened?" Uki asks as he tries to remember everything. His mind was a bit hazy but the last thing he remembers was standing in front of himself, a finger pressing in his forehead, a surge of pain passing through and he passed out.

He remembers going through some kind of horrible dream, he remembers the pain, the agony, the guilt, the confusion and most of all the rage.

"You passed out, I thought something bad happened to you" Shu said as he looked at Uki from head to toe. Uki felt there was something he was missing, something important...

"Wait- Where's the other Uki?" Uki asks frantically looking around and his eyes stop at the corner of the room as he catches his counterpart staring at him.

Looking around it doesn't seem like we're in danger. Luca and Sonny are still wary and the rest are careful but relaxed. Sonny went towards him, sitting in his bed he felt a burning gaze from the other Uki staring at the both of them.

"Are you okay?" Sonny asks as Uki nodded uncomfortably.

"I'm fine, just a little headache" Uki asks as Sonny looks at Uki and sighs a breath of relief.

"I almost killed your counterpart if he did not explain what he did" Sonny stated as Uki looks at him confused and then he looks at the other Uki who walks towards them.

"That... it's not a dream isn't it?" Uki asks as he trembles while looking at the cold gaze of his counterpart.

"That was real, wasn't it? That was... what you've been through.." Uki said sadly as he looked at the other Uki who sighs and sat down beside him.

"I didn't mean to get you involved in this, all I wanted is to destroy the very base of the institute. I came here to destroy this very hospital and to give you the powers i have"

"You can't! Uki's body is not strong enough to handle it, that is why i locked his powers. If you give it to him his body might explode" Shu interjects strongly as he stops the plan to transfer the powers.

"I don't have much left in me, my powers are almost depleted but in order to cure the poison in his body my powers are needed, after all this was originally his" The other Uki said as everyone looked at him surprised.

"What do you mean originally?" Shu asks as he looks at Uki then at the other Uki.

"I was using Yugo's body to move around the hospital since he is likely to be less suspected, through him I borrowed Uki's powers but in return it needed some kind of medium" The other Uki explained as Uki's eyes widened.

"The poison?" Uki asks as the other nodded in confirmation.

"I counted the remaining time and i knew i would be able to meet you before anything worse happened well that is... until that happened" The other Uki said and pointed to the still unconscious Ike who was bandaged up.
