Animes: Animal Girls Unite

And now for a role playing Anime of Adventure, Fantasy, Bishoujo and Comedy known as Animal Girls Unite. It takes place in a fantasy world populated by lots of creatures, mainly animal girls because they're so cute I can't resist, overrun by monsters and where people take on quests and trials to earn money and rewards. In a guild known as the Kitzune Guild, there resides a team of heroines calling themselves the Ear Tails. Hana the Catgirl, Mako the Doggirl, Goldie the Birdgirl, Kyuyu the Goatgirl, Kyoka the Raccoongirl, Kirara the Chinchillagirl and Tsubomi the Peafowlgirl. With the roles they're in, they're also known as Sword Shield Knight, Arrow Bow Archer, Axe Warrior, Mystic Mage, Spear Dragoon, Discus Waitress and Priest Healer. Not only do they know swordplay, archery, magic and taming beasts, they do have the nature and urges of animals, mainly Hana, Mako, Goldie and Kyuyu. They can't help themselves and give into their animal antics, basically into typical house pets or something. And you'll be happy to hear I've followed the traditional anime troupe having a lovable dolt with this one. The cat is the dolt, the dog is the hype, the bird is the drunk, the goat is the cheeky, the red panda is the thief, the chinchilla is server and the peacock is the annoyed.

This Anime doesn't have any overarching stories or anything, I think you're already aware I can't really handle that stuff. It just involves the girls choosing quests, running into hijinks in their own time and having fun, which can lead to a few misadventures such as raiding dungeons and getting lost. There are other guild embers, like the Contortionists, the Beast Tamers who are also the guild's employees and Rei, the Ear Tails' self proclaimed rival. Followed by that, other creatures existing in this world consist of many well known and recognisable fantasy creatures. Humans, fairies, elves, unicorns, dwarfs, gnomes, giants, halflings, angels, demons, goblins, fawns, imps, trolls, dragons, ogres, cyclopses, orcs, naiads, sprites, spirits of life, water, fire and air nymphs, nyconids, sylphs, pygmys, salamanders, lamias, harpies, lilims, succubus and of course the ladies with animal features. They don't have a specific name, so they are called by what animals they are followed by "girl".

There are running gags in AGU as well, which are the animal shenanigans and urges they can't fight. There's Hina purring, playing with yarn, coughing up hair balls and getting a fright, Mako wagging her tail, playing fetch, scratching her itches and being a good girl, Goldie eating bird seed or bread crumbs, taking a bird bath and drinking too much, Kyuyu eating books and Tsubomi just having enough. If you have the thirst for adventure and cute animal waifus, this is the one. And let me let you in on a little sneak peek. Something unexpected happens near the last ep.
