Indeed. I have, in fact, created by own version of Lewis Carrol's masterpiece. My own Alice, my own Mad Hatter, my own Queen of Hearts, my own Cheshire Cat, my own White Rabbit, Tweedles, Caterpillar and more. To do so, I did a little read and study on the plot of the original story as well as its sequel, and some of the other adaptions like Disney, Burton and Magee. Like other adaptions of a book, each one is different but share a few similarities. What everyone must understand is it is important to always have the 5 central characters that make story what it is. The heroine, the hatter, the queen, the cat and the rabbit, and few more of course. Without the them, it is not the same. They are the same as any other version, but with some specialties. Alice is curious to explore and brave enough to stand up to the queen, the Hatter is mad as any other and his ways usual solve problems, the Queen is ill tempered, quite cruel being a tyrant and says that iconic line, the Cat is a mischievous soul with grin but intend on helping Alice even though he got her into trouble and the Rabbit is indeed late but rather helpful. For my Alice, I thought there should be something about her that would catch your interest. She intends on finding a place where she can be herself, because where she's from she feels a bit lost. So Wonderland was a place where she could truly be herself. There was one character in particular from the original story that I didn't see in a lot of the adaptions. It was the puppy Alice runs into while small. I've decided to ad him into my adaption and he becomes a helper, like the Cheshire Cat, White Rabbit and Caterpillar.

Like any other adaption, I had to choose it to be a sequel, like Burton's, or adaption of the story, like Disney's, and for Wonderland to be a real place or in a state of the mind, like Magee's. For mine, Wonderland is a real place and it is another adaption. And of course there are changes, additions and removed scenes. Some of the things I ridded from the story was the tear part, because in my head something tells me no. instead, Alice does the same routine, but once growing in size she takes the key and makes her way. There was also the pig baby scene after the Duchess, because that one really weirded me out. So instead, Alice walks into the Duchess' house and offers to help her cook for the queen, which only results in violent sneezing because of pepper. There are still some pigs and raths though. And finally we have the mushroom scene which causes our heroine's body to scrunch and stretch. I don't know what happened, but I think Disney should be glad he made the right choice not to have that in his version. Instead, the mushroom gets Alice back to her normal size. She doesn't have to have different sides or anything. Just a nibble or bit and she is fine, no matter how much she eats. It's like some kind of antidote. Like Burton's queen, my queen is the keeper of the 3 beasts from that poem. The Bandersnatch, the Jubjub Bird and menacing Jabberwocky. The Jabberwocky had sworn his loyalty to the queen while the other 2 follow along. I am featuring some of the characters from the sequel as well. The 3 queen chess pieces of red, white and black. In my version, they rule over the part of Wonderland that is laid out like a chess board. It will indeed be a fun filled adventure with no doubt.

Now this may sound, well, mad, but I have made 2 versions of the story. One American, one Japanese. They both follow the same story, but while the American one has a mature ring to it, the Japanese one is what you would expect from a good yet hilarious anime. And while the American is a film, the Japanese is episodic. There is a way how you can tell both counterparts apart from each other. Anime Alice gets much more annoyed with everything then American Alice, Anime Hatter likes to flirt mainly with the heroine, which was something I saw in a few animes though he is no perv, and the Anime Queen of Hearts has the tendency of losing her cool and wouldn't hesitate to chop off the heads right here and now. What's more, there is tension between the Japanese versions of Alice and the Queen are, because Alice dislikes her tyranny and the queen herself isn't fond of her insults. So yeah, there is a thick hard wall between them that's impossible to break. I don't know why I decided to come up with something like this, but Japan in general really has taken me over with its great content.

And that was my version of one of the best stories ever told, with 2 versions that is, and I hope you let the madness reign.
