Nintendo Fangames: Metroid Invasion

Here's yet another Nintendo fangame I made. Metroid Invasion. Samus Aran Bounty Hunter in the house! This little fangame over here is sort of like my Kirby fangame where Samus fights previous foes. But this time it's different. This time it takes place in an unidentified solar system where the badass fights cloned and robot versions of previous bosses, since she sort of killed them all. The features in the game are kind of like the originals where it switches from 1st person to 3rd person, and you can swim and grab onto stuff. It's easy once you get the hang of it. And because every Nintendo game on the Switch is each series at its finest, on my opinion, it'll be a blast for fans. You can even change suits, no matter what the case. So you can just get creative and wear what you want. What makes MI exclusive and special for the series, like Mario's cap-ture ability, Link in blue and Kirby's Friend Heart, is this brand new suit. The De-Tox Suit, which protects Samus from this new deadly toxin called Dumiliun that's just as dangerous as Phazon. And you can bet this suit is fully loaded. I'm not kidding about the new poison. It's found in the cores of each planet in the system. It makes you lose control and you can die from it when it infects you. Just like in the previous games, Samus rescues little critters, being the Etecoons and Dachora, held captive by the Space Pirates which sets up another part of gameplay by choosing which ones you want to support you for gathering items or taking out enemies.

The main threat is, of course, the Space Pirates. They have returned along with the central antagonist Ridley, who Samus happens to loath due to an incident. If you thought the Zebes explosion killed them, well think again. Mother Brain and the Metroid Queen back too. I mean I had to work out something for Samus to go up against. Most things from Other M and Fusion aren't included by the way, because I don't like parasites and the Bottle Ship wasn't a very pleasant or satisfying journey. It made a complete fool out of Samus and was an embarrassment to the whole series. It's what I like to call crappy fan fiction. It almost seemed like the game makers ignored Metroid's concept or storytelling and, for crying out loud, Samus is so not afraid of Ridley. This story still takes place after those adventures though.

What you must know is that MI wasn't just made for fun. It served some kind of purpose and yet an opportunity for Samus, plus a few changes I did that are kind of against the events of the games. I really worked my butt of with this one with a ton of effort. Unlike Mario, Link, Pikachu and Kirby, she didn't get a spot on the switch. Think of this as an opportunity for her to finally be on the switch because I took pity on her. This woman has been through so much within the stars. Worst part is, she lost her comrades and everything, and all that's left are her enemies. Those menacing Space Pirates and her dark phazon hungry doppelganger took everything from her, not to mention what happened on the Bottle Ship. I also made this project to brush off the events of Other M. That game was a complete waste of time and money. I'll have you know that I told myself once I finish it, just because I was curious of the outcome, I would immediately send it back to the store, which is exactly what did. I give it a negative 1 out of 10 and 5 stars. It's as if Samus wasn't herself at the time and she takes orders from no one. She can take care of herself and is completely independent, thank you very much. There is a reason why she's Nintendo's most badasss female, and don't you forget it. How unfortunate. She must suffer a lot. And killing Rundas, Ghor and Gandrayda wasn't even necessary. It's like they're killing them off for the sake of it. I liked those guys. So, since I couldn't stand watching them die like that, I fixed that problem and let them live.

Let's just say my fangame exists in a reality where Samus manages to actually save the 3 of them in the nick of time, despite her own corruption, and they work together to press on. I mean it looked as if Samus was sparking a friendship with Rundas. Then in the very end, they beat the crap out of the final boss, teach Dark Samus a lesson for infecting them and they go their separate ways. They aren't seen since then though because I didn't want to alternate it too much. Please don't soak the different reality in by the way because this is nothing like that. The 4 of them do make a pretty good team. For another little something for Samus, it was just to make her happy. So yeah, I altered the whole thing a bit because I hated those conflicts. Samus will not be losing anymore allies, because I for one think she's lost enough. Furthermore, I made the choice to not ad any flashbacks of her past the cutscenes, unlike that one scene other did that I so did not want to see again.

I had to do it because I felt great sympathy, and I think it's really unfair this would able to an independent woman able to kill aliens 100 times her size. It's not just the MP3 gang by the way. I bought the whole gang. Kanden, Noxus, Trace, Spire and Weveal are back, joining in gratitude after saving them. It has something to do with an event from the game. Now I think I know how the bounty hunter feels to be that inhaling pink puff having a lot of friends around. Bounty Hunters and alien creatures. But Sylux, no way. He's a bad guy. He has hatred for the federation and he's pretty power hungry. I mean you saw the cliffhanger at the end of MP3. And yes, he finally makes his return because he wouldn't just be stalking Samus in his ship all the time. I'm really happy I did this because I feel I did Samus a favour. She deserves it. and I do like myself some independence and combat too.
