𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘴' 𝘗𝘖𝘝:

I was speeding though the narrow streets of Monaco. My hands were sweating as I held the steering wheel. I looked at the GPS and looked up. I saw Pierre, Arthur and Elodie on the sidewalk of a street lit up only by a few streetlights and the moon. I stopped the car and turned it off to get out as fast as I could, closing the door, almost slamming it.

"Charles, thank God." Arthur looked at me relieved by my presence. He was clearly drunk, his eyes bloodshot and his balance was off.

"Get in the car." I spoke and he looked at me confused by my firm tone. "Now." I ordered and he lowered his head and got in the backseat silently.

Pierre was holding Elodie. She had her arm around his shoulder for balance. I held her other arm and she groaned when we started walking, she was like a rag doll.

"I don't wanna go with you." She tried getting off my grip.

"Elodie." I scolded her but she moved away from Pierre and me stumbling back and loosing her balance.

"Woah, woah." Pierre and I caught her at the same time like it was a reaction test.

"I don't wanna go with you." She repeated and then whispered incoherent words to herself and hiccuped.

"Elodie, he's here to help. It's Charles." Pierre explained to her like she was a little kid and pointed at me trying to prove to her it was actually me.

"I don't wanna go with Charles." She remarked my name with sarcasm. She was throwing a tantrum at this point.

"Pierre get in the car." I told him.

"But..." He was about to say but I glared at him. He sighed and walked towards the car to get in the backseat next to Arthur.

"Welcome to the club." Arthur scooted to the other side of the backseat.

"Giving me orders. He doesn't give me orders." Pierre spoke to himself as he put his shades on and closed the car's door.

I looked back at Elodie as she stumbled with her own bare feet. Her body couldn't stay still, she had no balance.

"Where are your heels?" I asked her and she stumbled again and extended her arms dramatically.

"Heels? What are those?" She chuckled and hiccuped.

I sighed and looked around trying to spot her heels. It wasn't that hard. I walked towards the sidewalk, leaning down to pick up her shiny, notorious ,and absolutely visible high heels.

"Got 'em." I raised them up on the air as I walked towards her. "Let's go. Now." I grabbed her arm and she got off my grip again.

"You don't order me." She furrowed her brows annoyed. I let out an exasperated sigh at her attitude.

"Elodie, I'm trying to help you." I tried explaining her and she shook her head multiple times.

"No you're not."  She stated, dragging her words because of the liquor in her system. "You're mean." She pointed her index finger at me and hiccuped again.

I passed my hand through my face and let out another exasperated sigh.

"I'm mean?" I asked and she nodded still hiccuping. "Yeah, why am I mean?" I asked loosing my patience.

"Because you make me love you." She let out with no hesitation. "I should hate you. You're mean. But I just can't." She shrugged and let out a little laugh. "I'm so stupid."

My eyes widened a little bit and my heart skipped a beat when I heard her say the four letter word she'd never said to me. Love. I opened my mouth to say something but I couldn't find any words, it was like I'd forgotten all the words in the dictionary.
