"Eve, say hi to your sister," my mom said introducing a little girl to me.
"Hi," I said while standing in front of the TV. I was confused and excited.
As I looked into her face she was crying. Her eyes were swollen. The cheeks were so red like an apple. She looked at me and again looked at my mom. she also had visible confusion on her face.
"Go and talk to her that's Eve," one of the maids said.
"What's your name?" I asked her. She looked down like she don't have a name. For a moment I felt like I had a new pet myself. what is this? why is she here? Do I need a sister? I had millions of questions in my mind. But I just watched my mom dad and that girl standing in front of me.
"Eve you can give her a new name it doesn't matter what her name is" mom sound so cold. I could see her face as my Mom said that. She looked like a pet dog who is waiting to take into the family. If I didn't agree to take her in what could have happened?
She was holding a Lily flower. And I just said "lily".
That was the first time I met Lily. Since then whether it's good or bad we always stayed together. Past 16 years we slowly became who we are right now.
if someone asked me who she is I say "my sister". I never had a friend because I knew nobody else can be as understanding as she is. With my family's condition, I always worried that what could happen if someone knew about my family's illegal businesses. So I always tried to keep my distance.
In school, we faced lots of hardships just because of being the daughter of a kind of mafia boss. I always kept my distance from almost everyone after middle school. But Lily was a very friendly person with a bunch of friends. I couldn't believe how she do that but if it was what she wanted she always achieved it no matter what.
" Eve could you please stop staring at lily it's awful," Kai said. Looked at Kai with a deadly gaze in my eyes.
" you know what, you complain that you don't like to be like your father. but trust me you are exactly like a mafia when you looked at me like that." He said giggling.
"Shut up Kai," I said
" if you wanna dance just go and dance since we are already at the club," Kai said taking a sip of beer.
" I can not believe how you guys are so relaxed, especially, tomorrow we have a family dinner only God knows what would happen"
When our families had dinner together I always felt so uncomfortable. Even though I grew up in a mafia family. I just don't even like to use the word mafia to describe my family. If my instincts are right tomorrow is gonna be a big mess.
"Eve you look super uncomfortable. let's just go home." Lily said
"No, it's fine," I said but kai also stood up so I did the same.
While driving home we didn't talk that much and that atmosphere made me even more uncomfortable.
"Kai im tired could you please stop the car?" I asked kai.
"I will but not here. Let's go somewhere else nice and calm." He said.
As we drive I was kind of waiting for lily to talk. but until we arrived she didn't say single a word.
Kai stopped the car on the side of the road where it was so close to our mansion and I got off the car.

"Why here?" I said.
"Just chill Eve anything is not as bad as you think they are!" Lily said leaning against the car.
"I hope you are right," I said.
"My dear friends, quit being moody let's just chill out. Forget about tomorrow just enjoy the moment or you will never be able to." Kai said putting his hands on our shoulders and hugging us.
After spending hours, and hours, there chilling and vibing we finally got home.
"Eve where were you been?" As soon as I got home mom ran toward me. " you know how worried I am?"
"Sorry, mom we were just chilling I feel a little uneasy today. You know, I don't like it whenever papa had dinner or a party with his partners." I said while heading to my room.
"I know baby but it's a very important day tomorrow, so please don't miss it Okay, if you love mom just please don't try to do nonsense," she said holding my hands.
With her tone, I can say tomorrow's dinner, is not just a regular dinner there must be something important. "Okay," I said hugging mom and leaving to take a shower.
It was already 2 am but I wasn't able to sleep yet. So I walked out of my room to the open veranda and sat down on the floor. It was a calm and starry night. I felt like the world is so wonderful. but in the real case, it's not. The problem is not the world but the human who live in it.
"Hey, not sleep yet?" It was Lily
"Hey no..! I feel exhausted" I said with a sigh.
"You are kind of an idiot Eve," she said sitting next to me
"You......bitch what did you just say? Do you Wanna die?" I said grabbing her neck in a teasing manner.
"Ah shi.....t you witch get lost" she pushed me away.
" you go away im the one who got here first," I said sitting back in my seat.
"Who cares then die here alone." She said running to escape after pushing me away again.
I was laughing my lungs out at the way she ran. I felt relaxed, Probably this is the first time I felt relaxed today. It's a blessing that I have her by my side.
