Promise

Birthday

You were doing your assignments when Jimin arrived. You greeted him with butterfly kisses all over his face.

"What is it? You seem in the bad mood?" You could read his face now. You could tell immediately if something bothers him.

"Hmm.. Have you eat yet, baby?" He really can't tell you anything yet.

"No, I'm waiting for you. I asked chef to make your favorite." You came back early from college today.

Jen and Chaeyoung were in better term. Jen was more considerate after the three of you being friend again. Not always nice but much better than before.

"Thank you." He rubbed your head.
You rested your head on his lap, "Oh, my mom arrange to have dinner to celebrate my birthday next week. She invites your parents, too." Your mom called this morning. She sounds excited.

"I have business trip next week. It's.. very important." You frowned.

"More important than me? It's my first birthday since we are together.. Can you just delay the matters after that?" You whined. Clinging to him.

"Nothing is more important than you. We will celebrate as soon as i get back. I promise."
You expected to have nice surprise from him.
But instead of a good one you got this.

"Hmp.. What should i do on my birthday then? What's the point of pretty dress if i can't use them on my birthday." You went out for shopping with the girls. Both of them share the money to gift you the dress. It was very pretty on you.

"How about ask Chaeyoung and the other one to eat something? Girl's night? Is that how you girls say them?"

".." You pouted. What's more important more than your birthday, "You have been busy back and forth to Busan lately too.." He left you more often and very busy himself.

Things didn't really go well. Even he was still as sweet as usual and spoiling you with endless love, you felt he was.. hiding something. You are thinking too much, Y/n.

Jungkook and Taehyung also went out for business trip all the time. Jimin was busier than anyone because he had more responsibility. You should learn to endure them

He will probably bring you with him after you done with your education.

"Please don't be angry.. I will make it up, just this year.. Please let it slide. One time?" He kissed your head. You dodge it, you want to let it go too but you can't help but disappointed,

"I'm truly sorry, my love. Tell me what do you want, I'll get it. Anything.."

"I want you on my birthday."  You answered inside your heart.

Your room was filled with roses and gifts from Jimin. Some of them were from your parents and Taehyung also sent a pair of heels to match your dress. He was good looking and also had good taste in fashion.

A giant cake standing tall in your kitchen. You didn't touch that a bit. Jimin was really all out to coax you..

Jimin left for Busan yesterday. You didn't pick up or reply his text yet. To hear his voice when you expected him on your birthday was painful
You knew it was very immature..

"Open up, yahh!!" Loud and impatient bang could be heard from your front door. Sounds like Jen and her rude behavior...

You snickered, "What are you doing here now?" You rolled your eyes.

"Happy Birthday!" She showed the cake. Chaeyoung was also with her.

"We thought you might want company. It's your birthday after all." Chaeyoung kissed your cheek. You were too upset too go out so you didn't ask them to have dinner with you.

"Why are you dressing like this on your birthday?" Jen eyed you head to toe. You look like having a long long year.

"I'm not in the mood." Chaeyoung admired your birthday gifts, there was tons of them. Can't expect less from Park Jimin but if only he was here himself. It could be better..

"Fuck him, let's go out and have fun. He gave you his card. Drain it a bit as compensation, I'm sure he would not even notice." Jen snorted, what a

waste of time to behave like you did now. You should be having fun, "Dress sexily and send him the picture. Let him know what he is missing. I'm sure he will regret it." Jen opened up your wardrobe. Tossing a dress one to another.

"Don't listen to her, it's so childish." Chaeyoung rolled her eyes.
"This one. Definitely this one, put this on." Jen handed you the dress.
"I'm not sure about this.." It was showing too many skin. You weren't comfortable to show your skin to anyone other than Jimin. He liked it if you only dress sexily for him. Like he was the owner of your body.

"Dress up!!" Jen scolded you.
"Aishhh, yes, yes.." You hurried to the closet.
You bought this dress a year ago. You didn't even remember about it since you got plenty.

"I'll do your make up!" She said as she added more glow to her own face, "You want some?"

Chaeyoung shook her head. She disliked putting up too much make up.

"You should change too." Jen looked for another dress for her.

"I'm fine. Just let Y/n have fun tonight." It was your birthday, you should shining brighter than
the others.

"She will." Jen reassured her.
Jen was doing your make up. She was very good at it. Doing eyeshadow was one of her favorite things to do.

"Who is that?" Someone was pressing the bell in your apartment door, "Do you expect anyone?" You shook your head.

"It's probably Jimin, he wants to surprise you." Chaeyoung said. It was weird to ditch your fiancé for something else. Especially knowing how much Jimin loves you.

"Yes!" It was probably him, 100%!
"Ah, wait." Jen put your lipstick on.

"Quickly, quickly." You rushed her.

Checking your make up once again, running out to open the door. It must be him! You couldn't think of someone else.

"Oh, Koo.." Another bitter disappointment wave inside your heart. Clearly he said it was important, yet you still expect him to be here.
What a joke.

"Happy Birthday. Here." Jungkook handed you the small package, his other hand have cake on it. How considerate of him.

He heard that your parents were inviting Jimin's parents to have dinner together. Celebrating your birthday but it was delayed because Jimin had urgent matters to attend, "It's late.." "Make a wish and blow the candle."

"Ah, should i?" You hadn't blow any cake. Jimin sent you giant cake but you didn't in the
mood to since he wasn't here himself.

"It's melting." He said.

You closed your eyes. Making wishes. You wish this year will be fantastic with Jimin and everything goes well with him.

"It's done." You blew the candle, smiling brightly at him.

"Are you just go back from somewhere?" Seeing you were dressing up a little and quite mature make up on your face, "Are you going somewhere?" "Should i treat you dinner? Its your twentieth birthday."

"I'm about to head out." Jen and Chaeyoung were listening behind the door.

"This late?" He frowned. This late? Wearing this adult like shorts. He still can't erase the little girl image on his head.

"Yes, i'm with my girlfriends..." You explained.
"Oh.." You took the cake from his hands.

"Do you want to go with us?" You asked. He will be the only guy, but Jen would love to have him, right?

"You should go with us, Oppa." Jen show her nose up, "We wanna drink. Someone had to watch for Y/n, she easily get drunk."

"Hmm.. I'll drive." You must be quite upset since you decide to have a drink outside.

"Nice. Thank you Jungkook oppa!"
