soulmates.
that's one of the biggest reasons why people have been so happy over the past few years.
it started 250 years ago with the first two people being born with a soulmate connection.
it was all over the news, two babies were born with a tattoo on their wrist. they both had identical tattoos, both had an unique star shape on their body. one was born in tokyo, japan, and the other one was born in kyoto, also in japan.
it was such a big thing among people all over the world, that the parents of those children decided to have them meet so they could see if it was indeed, the same tattoo as the other had.
the parents wanted to know everything about this situation. they were curious to know if the tattoo was identical, and believed that it was something that was out of this world. one of the pairs even believed it was something the aliens did to their babies.
(no one really knows what caused all these soulmate connections).
once the babies met at only two days old, their tattoos began magically glowing, and the black star had now a beautiful yellow colour.
that was the start of many more soulmate connections.
in these 250 years, more kids were born with soulmate connections. these vary from many things, as not everyone has the same soulmate connection.
some couldn't see colours before they met their soulmate, others had matching tattoos, there were people with necklaces, people with weird shaped marks where their soulmate would first touch them, and some had letters, phrases, or numbers tattooed on their body.
everyone was different, and so were the believes.
there was a group that didn't like the idea of these soulmate connections, the ones that ignored everything about it. they believed that love isn't something that's written out for you, that the ones that are your soulmates are just randomly generated. they don't believe in the myth that it is indeed your true soulmate.
those people that do not believe are the ones that find love on their own and ignore the soulmate connections. some of their soulmates never find love, and others end up changing these connections because the one they were supposed to end up with doesn't want them.
but that's only on rare occasions, as your true soulmate is always set in stone for you. it's written in the stars, but just not everyone believes in that myth.
you on the other hand have always loved the idea of soulmate connections, and how they were a part of the world now. you wanted to know everything about it, and you couldn't wait to know what your connection was like.
only that time never came.
for you it was different.
you were someone with no soulmate connection.
you were one of the now 2% of the world population that didn't have a soulmate connection.
you really were that unlucky.
it's a rare thing nowadays to have a baby be born without one, but it was the case with you.
you never stopped hoping that you might have one that no one has, but to no luck. you were still stuck with your boring life without a connection. no tattoos, no marks, no subjects that were just drawn to you... no connections. you don't have one.
but that didn't stop you from believing. you were still a hopeless romantic, and you still wished that there was someone out there for you.
even though you don't have a soulmate connection, you were still determined to find yours.
maybe there was someone out there for you, maybe your soulmate doesn't have a connection either.
you know it's a rare chance with only 2% of the world population having no connection, but that's still quite a lot of people if you look at the world population.
so maybe...
maybe there's someone out there for you.
and you can't wait to meet them.
