Fawnkit sat there, waiting for a response.
"Fawnkit? You should be at the nursery, the moon will start to rise soon." Starlingclaw yawned as he sat in his bedding.
"Houndkit keeps bothering me, Cinnamonkit often sleeps in medicine den, and Flailkit keeps helplessly crying." Fawnkit complained.
"Alright, come here," He sighed, shifting his tail aside, giving spacing for the kit. "You can sleep for only today, your littermates will not bother you here during resting."
Fawnkit hopped into the nest. Shuffling around, before falling asleep.
"Looks like you have a new apprentice," Laurelbarry whispered with a chuckle.
"Fawnkit cannot be my apprentice when I am mentoring Shadowpaw. I mean there has been times when cats mentored two apprentices before. Shadowpaw is quite close to her warrior ceremony. Also isn't SwanPaw's warrior ceremony tomorrow?" Starlingclaw turned to Laurelbarry.
"Right, that little brat. I'm proud to be his mother though," Laurelbarry silently laughed.
Starlingclaw joked, "He has your temper too," Laurelbarry let out a snort before looking outside of the warrior's den.
"How is Shadowpaw's training?" LaurelBarry questioned.
"Shadowpaw should be getting her warrior ceremony soon, that is for sure," Starlingclaw answered.
"I heard that Lilystream will be mentoring Flailkit. Frogcloud also wanted Swanpaw to have his first apprentice as Houndkit. Swanpaw's warrior ceremony isn't very far," Laurelbarry frowned, remembering the clan's former clanmates, "Gorpsestone joined in the clan before me, she was mentored by an older cat who was friends with Thristlestar, Fennelear. Gorpsestone had a sister, Riverthorn."
Starlingclaw remembered the story of Riverthorn, "Right, Riverthorn was the cat who ran away with a loner, while Gorpsestone was raising Brindletail."
Laurelbarry nodded, "And Brindletail's sister, Cinderkit."
Starlingclaw continued, "Yeah, Bumbleclaw died along with Cinderkit from a fox."
Laurelbarry nodded a second time, "Corkstar must have told you already then."
LaurelBarry looked at Fawnkit.
"I'm happy about the news of Brindletail with your kits. I hope I will be able to see them before I plan to retire. I remember when Corkstar brought you to the clan. So little, Snowcloud and Swanpaw were always reckless, and kept tripping you." LaurelBarry rested her head down with a silent laugh and so did StarlingClaw.
