Chapter 1

Footsteps ran far out, CometPaw watched the dark night, the strong scent passed by him. The creature growled then whimpered when a another creature screeched.
"Out of here, you fox!" MoonPaw screeched.
"I can't believe StarlingClaw left you out here, while foxes were around! Anyway are you okay? CometPaw?" MoonPaw spoke softly as she approached him. Her footsteps were quite quiet, the berry scent she carried was sweet than the other cats in the clan.
"I'm fine, I didn't realize a fox was around." He lied, the fox didn't even try to be quiet, it straight forward attacked.
"We should head to NightBlair, it got you on the shoulder, it doesn't seem bad." MoonPaw walked beside him, she was great at comfort, CometPaw loved her company too. But he wondered how would she reacted if he wasn't blind?
"SunPaw, can you get some mouse for me and CometPaw?" MoonPaw mewed, as CometPaw sat on his moss bedding wondering.
"MoonPaw! I challenge you!" A blueberry faded scent ran out of the nursery.
"Not now, RainKit!" MoonPaw mewed.
"Go back to Bloom, surely FrogStar will give her a warrior name soon!" A voice croaked, CometPaw was confused at first then realized it was SunPaw, he carried a nothingness scent. He dropped two small prey, mouse, CometPaw assumed.
"Thank you, SunPaw. RainKit often bothers me and MoonPaw ever since Bloom told her about the prophecy." CometPaw spoke, but it felt like he was speaking to nothing, only a presence of a ghost.
"I didn't want to hear her brag either way, I'm planning to sleep, you two can eat other there. FrogStar wants everyone to gather strength for tomorrow, we barely even left the previous camp." SunPaw complained, how could he save the clan if he going to be sleeping all the time.
"C'mon CometPaw, we should never bother SunPaw, if he going to be a GREAT warrior one day!" MoonPaw yowled at the odd bushy den for SunPaw to hear.
"Don't be hard on him... He's often grumpy, I mean he does have SpiderStripe as a mentor."
"But, he has been like that, since kithood!" MoonPaw complained.
"And, he'll learn how to be caring brother." CometPaw knew MoonPaw wasn't buying it, but she agreed.
"I guess, I really wish he was more, well, grateful. He is the son of the sister of our previous leader!"
"Yea, but CorkStar is with SunClan now. CormantStorm has returned to her warrior duties, and there's only two queens left, three kits and a expecting queen." CometPaw reassured her.
"Bloom may be part of the clan now, doesn't mean she wasn't born as a loner, her kits were carry the same grief because of her!" FawnPaw glared.
"What's wrong with loners joining the clan!? We need more cats, and those kits will be great warriors!" MoonPaw glared back.
"Yeah, in the shadows creek." FawnPaw looked over, as LilyStream approached.
"The shadows creek is no place for kits, you have to trust them, if you don't then you will have a point. Distrust is pressure to any cat. If FrogStar didn't trust you becoming a warrior, you'll question if you're good enough for your clan." LilyStream hushed FawnPaw. FawnPaw stayed silent, and MoonPaw nudged CometPaw on the shoulder as a sign to follow, their flanks touching.
"I wonder how FrostPaw is doing her had some trouble with her wound opening when she plays with the kits, and HoundPaw is well a ball of energy." MoonPaw explained as they approached four scents, a cold scent was next to a sweet fluffy-like scent, they were talking about what herbs to use for the ear, seemed like assessment for the stubby apprentice.
"Spiderstring is used to sew the all-leaf to wounds, while all-leaf contains a nutrition of liquid to disinfect the ear. And moonshade flowers can be used for many things, but depends on what part you use." The stubby apprentice spoke.
"Good, you have learned quickly, HoundPaw and FawnPaw must be receiving their ceremony soon, we'll need to find a sacred place for your ceremony." NightBlair explained.
"Hey FrostPaw, how's your ear?"
"It stings a bit, but it seems alright."
"She's right, no infection will occur, especially when we are about to travel, but you two should go hunt for some prey." CinnamonPaw carried a bundle of herbs.
"Don't worry, me and CometPaw will be heading to StarlingClaw and then go hunting." MoonPaw reassured as StarlingClaw waited beside FrogStar, they talking which way to go.
"Going over the stones will be dangerous for the younger apprentices and kits. I suggest we follow the river, they can lead a good place with plenty of prey and a good place to drink, instead being targeted by a bunch of hawks, and small cats dropping down the sky's." FrogStar looked back to StarlingClaw.
"Yes, but SwanLeap had went on a patrol with HoundPaw, FawnPaw, and LilyStream. They told both of us that there is a good forest full of prey is across from here. Your way is safer, but we need a camp quick." StarlingClaw argued.
"How about we try the river, CometPaw won't be able to see where to step if we go to the stones, and Bloom is tired from her kitting, while her kits are a bit more active and like to explore." MoonPaw waited for their response.
