Third Person’s POV
ANIKET : what? What are you saying Kritika? How could she think like that?
KRITIKA : I don’t know… I was shocked to hear all this from her mouth.
Kritika has told Aniket about everything… how Anika thinks that she is a burden to them. How she thinks her existence gives pain to her mother. Kritika told everything to Aniket, what Anika has said to her.
Aniket’s POV
Oh god… today I have even said to her I don’t want a daughter like her. When she is actually thinking all this… o god. What have I done? I am sure she has taken it
seriously.I was angry. I was very hurt when Kabir told me that he has found out that Anika has got a job as a sweeper in a hotel. Maybe we wouldn’t have known it now if Kabir
in-laws haven’t bought a large amount of share of that hotel recently. We are shocked… I couldn’t believe all that. But after talking with Gullu everything
became clear. I was very angry about how she has planned all this.I didn’t think she is actually thinking of herself as a burden in our life. How could she
think like that? Did my love for her… my care for her… all our love for her wasn’t
enough proof for her that she is not a burden in our life? How could she think like that?I have to talk with her… no I need to put some sense in this idiot’s head. I used to
thought she is the smartest one among my children but now I realized she is the
dumbest.Third Person’s POV
Aniket and Kritika entered the room. They didn’t need to knock on the door as after the incident with the knife, Aniket ordered to break all the locks on the door of Anika’s room and a maid was always present outside of Anika’s room. So the door of Anika’s room was stayed always open after that incident. From that day there was no privacy in Anika’s room. Though Anika had said she hadn’t tried to cut her wrist but no one trust her and no one wanted to take any risk about it. So they all decided this.
Entering the room Both Aniket and Kritika saw Anika sitting on her bed… leaning on the headboard. She was looking at the opposite wall with a glance. There were no
emotions on her face. They both looked at each other worriedly. They both sat
on the bed on each side of her but still, Anika didn’t give any response. She was
looking towards the opposite wall at a glance.Aniket kept his hand on Anika’s shoulder and called her.
ANIKET : Sweetheart…
Anika didn’t get startled. She slowly turned her face towards Aniket.
ANIKA : Pa..
She was going to call her father ‘Papa’ but just saying 'pa' she closed her mouth. She
didn’t complete her word. Both Kritika and Aniket were stunned by Anika’s this behaviour. Aniket was too stunned to speak. Kritika couldn’t help but ask.
KRITIKA : why did you stop in middle? Why didn’t you call him Papa?
ANIKA : He has forbidden me to call him that…
There were no emotions in her words. They were sure she wasn’t saying this in a huff… she was saying it seriously.
Holding Anika’s shoulder Kritika jerked Anika two-three times.
KRITIKA : what happened to you? What is going on in your head? Why are you behaving like this, Niki? Please stop behaving this way… please Niki, please…
Kritika started crying…tears were also falling from Anika’s eyes.
ANIKET : Kritika I want to talk with Anika alone…
KRITIKA : but –
ANIKET : please Kritika..
Kritika left the room… seeing Anika like this it was giving her very pain. She had thought
she is ok…but no she was wrong. The more days passed, the more Anika was
behaving strangely. After Kritika left the room…
ANIKET : sweetheart, why are you behaving like this? Your Mumma is in pain seeing you
like this … everyone is upset seeing you like this…Anika started crying…
ANIKA : I always give everyone pain… Mumma is hurt because of me.
ANIKET : No no sweetheart you are taking it completely wrong way…
Aniket hugged the crying Anika and consoled her by caressing her back..
ANIKET : shhh sweetheart… don’t cry. Papa doesn’t like to see your crying face.
Holding Anika’s shoulder Aniket made Anika sit up straight and looked at her face to
face.ANIKET : just because I have forbidden you to call me Papa, and you will not call me Papa? You didn’t even protest …I have just forbidden you to do something and you have
accepted? When did you become so obedient? I don’t like this obedient Anika…
give my daughter back. My naughty, jolly, happy Anika who always makes everyone
happy… give her back to me.ANIKA : You are wrong… I have never made anyone happy. My existence is unwanted. I am a burden. I have only given you all pain. I am sure my existence made Mumma sad.
I am not made out of love. I am a result of rape. You’re all good people that’s
why you all didn’t abandon me. But you should have abandoned me. Mumma should
have aborted me…Anika was constantly blabbering nonsense. Hearing all these from Anika's mouth, Aniket was feeling pain like someone is squeezing his heart. He was very shocked that Anika was thinking all this in his mind.
His trance was broken by the angry voice coming from the entrance of the room...
“Shut up Anika! … Shut up! ”
