Chapter -28

Third Person’s POV

ANIKA : You are wrong… I have never made anyone happy. My existence is unwanted. I am a burden. I have only given you all pain. I am sure my existence made Mumma sad.
I am not made out of love. I am a result of rape. You’re all good people that’s
why you all didn’t abandon me. But you should have abandoned me. Mumma should
have aborted me…

Anika was constantly blabbering nonsense. Hearing all the nonsense from Anika's mouth, Aniket was feeling pain like someone is squeezing his heart. He was very
shocked that Anika was thinking all this nonsense in her mind.

His trance was broken by the angry voice coming from the entrance of the room.

“Shut up Anika! … Shut up! ”

Aniket and Anika looked towards the source of the voice… it was Payel who was standing
with a very angry expression.

Payel came near the bed where the father and daughter were sitting.

PAYEL : What? What is your problem, Anika? Do you have any sense of what you are talking about?

ANIKA : I am just telling the truth…

PAYEL : Shut up! I don’t want to hear a single word from your mouth.

Payel pulled Anika up from the bed…

ANIKET : Bhabhi...

PAYEL : No Aniket… don’t stop me. we have given her enough time. Now, this drama needs to be finished. Look at me Anika, I am talking to you.

Anika has never seen Payel this much angry.

PAYEL : what? You had planned to leave us all…right? Good… now pack your bags and get out of our lives.

Aniket approached Anika and hugged her in his arms.

ANIKET : Bhabi... I know you are angry… but this is not a good way. We need to calm down. I was also angry.

PAYEL : Yes… this is not a good way. She started sobbing in Aniket’s arm.

ANIKET : No sweetheart… why are you feeling guilty? there is nothing to guilty about…

ANIKA : Papa, I feel suffocated when I think about all the things. How could Mumma accept me?
How could you all accept me?

PAYEL : Anika, they love you. Just understand this simple thing, Anika. They love you. We
all love you.

ANIKA : How could they love me? I am a child who is res-

PAYEL : I will slap you Anika, if you again start this nonsense.

Aniket cupped Anika’s face in his palm…

ANIKET : look at me sweetheart, erase all that nonsense from your brain. Just remember you’re not a burden. We all love you very much. You’re very special to us. You’re not unwanted.

Anika started crying hugging loudly hugging her father.

ANIKA : Why did everything change? Why did everything change in my life?

ANIKET : Nothing has changed Anika. Everything is the same as usual. Why do you feel
everything has changed? Nothing has changed sweetheart.

Anika didn’t say anything she continued crying and hugging her father.

Aniket also didn’t say anything… he knew very well, that Anika needed more time. She still
wasn’t ok. Payel who was also present in the room understood that. The truth
has affected Anika badly. She still couldn’t able to accept the truth.

That night Anika slept between his father and mother as she used to sleep during her childhood.

Her siblings also joined them. Anik was sleeping beside his mother and Nitika was sleeping beside her father. Anika was in the middle. The family of five slept together
that night but sleep was far away from Aniket and Kritika's eyes. They were
very worried for their daughter Anika.
