We walked back along the train tracks. I held his hand, squeezing it slightly. "You're positive that was Dart?" Lucas asked. "Yes. He had the same exact yellow pattern on his butt." Dustin replied. "He was tiny two days ago." Max stated.
D: "Well, he's molted three times already."
S: "Malted?"
D: "Molted. Shed his skin to make room for growth like hornworms."
M: "When's he gonna molt again?"
D: "It's gotta be soon. When he does, he'll be fully grown, or close to it. And so will his friends."
S: "Yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats."
Dustin paused and Lucas walked in front of him. "Wait, cats?" He asked. Steve and I looked at each other, confused. "Dart ate a cat?"
D: "No, what? No."
S: "What are you talking about? He ate Mews."
E: "Yeah, we literally had to bury her."
M: "Mews? Who's Mews?"
S: "Dustin and Ev's cat."
D: "Guys!"
L: "I knew it! You kept him!"
D: "No! No. No, I... No, I... He missed me. He wanted to come home."
L: "Bullshit!"
D: "I didn't know he was a demogorgon, okay?"
L: "Oh, so now you admit it?"
M: "Guys, who cares? We have to go."
L: "I care! You put the party in jeopardy! You broke the rule of law!"
D: "So did you!"
L: "What?!"
D: "You told a stranger the truth!"
M: "A stranger."
Steve and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. He let go of my hand and put his arm around my shoulder. "This is gonna take a while." He whispered. I nodded, yawning.
L: "You wanted to tell her too!"
D: "But I didn't, Lucas, okay?"
Steve and I heard a screech, we turned to see where it was coming from. He moved his arm from around my shoulder and held my hand again.
D: "I didn't tell her! We both broke the rule of law, okay? So we're even. We're even!"
I shone the torch around the woods, slowly walking towards it. Steve gripped onto his bat.
L: "No, no! We're not even. Don't even try that. Your stupid pet could have ate us for dinner!"
D: "That was not my fault!"
S: "Guys..?"
D: "He wasn't gonna eat us!"
L: "Oh so he was crawling to come say hello?"
"Guys!" Steve shouted, turning around to face them. I kept my torch on the woods. We heard the screeching again. Steve held his bat on his shoulder and we started running towards the noise, whilst also trying to not trip over. "No, no, no. Hey, guys, why are you headed towards the sound? Hello? Hello?! Shit." Max shouted. The further we got, the louder the screeching got. We stopped walking and pointed our torches directly ahead of us. "I don't see 'em." Dustin said. Lucas put his binoculars on. "It's the lab." He said, taking them back off. "They were going back home." The gate. We started heading towards the lab. I squeezed Steve's hand whilst looking around. "You okay?" He whispered. I looked at him and nodded, smiling. He intertwined our fingers and I looked down, my smile becoming larger,

We got closer to the lab and heard shouting. "Steve? Evelyn?" Nancy and Jonathan said. "Nancy?" Steve said, Dustin followed behind with a "Jonathan?" We walked towards one another. "What are you doing here?" Nancy asked. "What are YOU doing here?" He repeated. "Looking for Mike and Will." She responded. "They're not in there, are they?" Dustin seethed his teeth. "We're not sure.." She said, quietly. "Why?" Jonathan questioned. Suddenly there was a loud screech and Jonathan's question was answered. We tried to get the gate open but the buttons weren't working. Nancy pulled me aside. "Happy Birthday." She whispered. "I haven't got long left of it and it sure wasn't happy." I replied, laughing. The electricity turned on as the others were bickering. Nancy and I walked closer towards the lab, eyes widening. "The power's back." She said, loudly, in order to catch their attention. We ran back towards the button and Jonathan clicked it. It still wasn't working. "Let me try." Dustin said, shoving Jonathan aside. "Let me try, Jonathan!" He shouted. He started clicking the button but of course, it's not going to open. "Son of a bit-" "Dustin!" I interrupted. He rolled his eyes and clicked the button again, the gate started to open. "Hey! I did it." He grinned, happily. We stood by the gate, waiting for the others to leave. Nancy and Jonathan got in the car and drove up to the entrance, leaving us at the gate, alone. Steve leant against one of the yellow poles whilst I sat on the floor next to him. The others were pacing back and forth. "Guys?" Max suddenly spoke. Cars started rushing our way and I quickly stood up, getting out the way. Hopper stopped in front of us. "Let's go." He said. The kids and I jumped in the back and Steve sat in the front.
