Chapter 7

As the day dragged on, Tord helped make a plan with Edd, Matt, and Tom to stop the Red Leader. It was going smoothly, especially considering the chaos actually going on. But in the background, there's something else behind the scenes…

You see, Larry was requested by Bing to gather consensus from the public, so Larry went undercover as a taxi driver. He'd usually converse with the passengers, discussing the whole situation with the Red Takeover, as it was now dubbed. Most were frightened or angered as expected, but Larry has surprisingly good manipulation skills, and he swayed others into believing it was all for a good cause.

But then Tord and Edd requested a ride. That changed his whole stance on the situation as the two hooded men talked to each other about the incident. Hell, Larry was even recognized as the assistant to the creator of Red.

Bing wasn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. Especially for someone who could create innovative inventions like he has. But he knew that a clone uprising would be no good. If the world was taken over by clones, where would the originals go? The very thought frightened Bing to his core.

He was evil, but not evil enough to just replace everyone with a clone. Or, even worse, multiple clones of the same person. Larry always commented on how that fear was irrational, considering how basically every clone of theirs was dead.

But one survived.

"Ugh, what are the odds? How is this even possible?" Larry muttered to himself as he drove back to the lair.

The man in question felt like he was going insane. How could this happen? A clone of theirs survived? Well, excluding the rejects. Bing had grown rather fond of those ones.

This… clone… the Red Leader. He HAD to be a reject. There's no way a clone could be THAT smart otherwise. This one was just smart enough to play dumb, and that's why he was never caught. That HAD to be it.

Larry punched in the code and entered the lair. Sure enough, Bing was there, interacting with one of the rejects, specifically the scribbly-looking Tom one.

"So there's your answer, now stop pestering me on how babies are made!" Bing demanded to the scribble Tom. The latter waddled over to the kitchen, rummaged in the fridge, and ate shredded cheese right from the package.

Typical.

Larry cleared his throat to get Bing's attention.

"Sir, I have something urgent to discuss with you," Larry told him.

"Well, make it snappy," Bing replied. "These weapon shipments to the Red Army aren't going to deliver themselves!"

"Well, that's the thing…"

Bing looked at him as if Larry was speaking complete nonsense.

"Remember when we cloned those morons?"
