...and that's something i've never told anyone. i think i'd be too ashamed to say it out loud. i think everyone would hate me more then they already do. they would think i am cruel and disgusting. but i've lost the ability to care about anyone else's opinion.

i messily scribbled in my navy blue diary. the school counsellor gave it to me to write out my feelings? i don't know, i find it stupid. the book itself is stupid. it's old and ugly and all the pages get stuck to each other when you try to turn one.

"stupid book" i said to myself, throwing it on the tshirt-covered ground. my room looked like someone had set off a bomb in my closet and all the clothes flew out and landed on the floor. but i guess the beige got a little bit of colour with all of the rainbows and multicoloured clothes. i let my head fall into my hands. i ran them through my hair and my mom walked in to see me looking stressed.

"hey hun. there's some food on the table" she leaned up against the doorframe of my bedroom.

"thanks...mom" i spoke up while slyly trying to push clothes over my diary with my foot to cover it up. she questioned my actions but quickly shrugged it off and walked out of my room.

"oh thank-" i heard a tap on the window "god..." my curtains were drawn so i couldn't see much more then a shadow. lucas. of course. he used to sneak into my house all the time. i pull the curtains back with anger. why is he..

"hey red!" her hazel coloured hair shone in the moon lit sky "why are you so angry?" her eyebrows furrowed and she looked at me in confusion.

"robin what are you doing here?" i groaned, clearly annoyed at the sudden appearance.

"i'm bored. steve's closing up the store and we live so close ya know?" she smiled sweetly.

"yeah sure..." i trailed off, unsure of what to say next.

"so...can i come in?" she tapped on the window sill.

"max what's taking so long?" mom walked back into my room and was shocked at the sight of robin. "robin buckley? oh my gosh how are you honey? how's your mother? it's been a while huh?"

i'm sorry what? since when did my mother know robin buckley. she's probably one of the least known girls in hawkins.

"hi ms mayfield! my mother is great thankyou" robin smiled awkwardly. she was still outside, tapping away on the window sill. the room went silent except for robin's obvious impatient tapping.

"would you like to eat with us?" mom offered after a while even despite my annoyed looks towards her.

"uhh yeah! sure" robin climbed through the window and dusted herself once she got inside.

"thanks for your help red!" she said sarcastically towards me.

"you never asked loser" i rolled my eyes. i love robin but not when she's in my house. eating dinner. with my mother. robin playfully elbowed me in the shoulder as she walked past me to take a seat at the dinner table.

"so robin? how's life treating you?" mom started to talk. and so did robin. there's one similarity between robin and mom and it's that neither of them like to stop talking. but this also made dinner surprisingly easy for me. the two rambled on about how robin's mom met my mom back in california and how robin's family moved back here before she was born. so, boring stuff.

"anyways ms mayfield can i take max to a friend's house tonight?" she finally finished her endless conversation with my mother. my ears perked up at the question.

"wait robin you have friends?" i said teasing the band nerd.

"max! don't be rude" mom looked at me sternly.

"i was kidding mom" i snickered behind my napkin. i was absolutely not kidding.

"uh yes i do max and you'll see them when you come with me" going to be honest, i was very intrigued at who the fuck robin was talking about. so of course i said..

"fine. let's go i guess" we both got up and took our plates to the sink.

"i'll see you later mom!" i shouted out waving to her in the kitchen.

"no later then midnight maxine! see you robin!" she pointed towards me with a serious face, but it quickly softened when she turned towards robin.

"bye ms mayfield!" robin shouted out too "ha ha your mom likes me better then you" she whispered in my ear in a sing-song tone.

"shut up" i spat back, grabbing my skateboard at the same time.
