I stood by the edge of Steve's pool, my arms wrapped around my shivering body.

By this point, my makeup was running down my face , my angel wings were drooping, my dress was soaking wet and my feet were killing me.

Steve caught sight of me, "Oh, shit yeah" he muttered.

"Let me get you a towel" and I watched him jog toward the house and in through the glass sliding doors, leaving me alone.

With the alcohol wearing off, my mood started to decline.

I wandered what Nancy and Jonathan ended up doing. I was kind of jealous that they left together, leaving me alone on my first halloween out.

I looked back at the pool. It was still despite us being in it minutes before. The turquoise water tempted me to get back in, thinking at least it would be warmer than standing out in the brisk October air.

I was drawn out of my thoughts when i felt a warm embrace around me.

Alarmed, i quickly turned around to see Steve a couple of steps in front of me with an awkward look on his face. I looked down and wrapped around me was a bath towel.

It was the softest towel i had ever felt. It must have been brand new, or crazy expensive. I clutched the edges of it and held it tighter around my body before flashing him a small thankful smile.

I never thought i would be thankful for Steve Harrington in my life, but there we were.

He scratched his head awkwardly before sighing,
"Let's go." He gestured his hand towards the doors.

I sighed and he dropped his hand before walking off back to the house. I followed closely behind him, our feet leaving wet prints on the paved terrace.

My heels clicked as we walked down the steps towards his car.

Once we got in, he started up the car and made sure the cassette player in the car was switched off, preferring the silence for the ride back.

I shuffled uncomfortable in my seat before reaching behind me and taking my angel wings off, putting them in the footwell for the time being.

"No ABBA then?" I joked, trying to break the awkward silence.

"What? No" He responded defensively before pulling out of the driveway.

I rolled my eyes at his answer then leaned my head on the cold window of the car, looking out onto the empty streets.

My elbow unsteady rested on the inside of the door and and my other hand came up to wipe away the condensation on the window so my view was clearer.

I was never out at this time, i never had a reason to be. Hawkins felt different in the earliest hours of the morning. Yeah, there wasn't many people that lived here, but there was always someone out in the day. Yet now it was completely empty. Like a ghost town.

I allowed my mind to wander before speaking up again.

"Isn't it funny" I slightly laughed at myself.
