Maia opened her eyes, squinting at the bright, natural light streaming through the window and adjusting to the unfamiliar surroundings.

It took her awhile to remember where she was, but the heavy arm draped around her bare stomach quickly brought the memories of the night before rushing back.

Blushing, Maia gently removed Hasan's arm from around her, carefully sliding out of bed. She grabbed her phone from its charging place on his nightstand, and tiptoed her way to to his bathroom.

After contemplating if she should take a shower, Maia decided fuck it, why not?

Since there wasn't really a possible way to take a shower quietly, Hasan woke up to the sound of running water. When Maia stepped out of the shower, she saw him propped up on the headboard, shirtless, scrolling through his phone.

"Where's your closet?" She asked, holding the towel up to her chest.

"Good morning to you too," Hasan said, looking up from his phone with a smile. "It's the door by the mirror over there."

Shuffling over to the closet, Maia opened it to reveal a selection of clothing items, mostly button-up shirts and graphic tees. She slipped on a large t-shirt of his and her "emergency shorts" (which Aiden required her to keep in her purse at all times.)

"I like the shirt!" Hasan said once Maia made her way back to the bathroom to hang the towel back up.

"Thanks!" she yelled back from the bathroom.

"Oh, someone called when you were in the shower," he said, walking up to Maia with her phone in hand. "Vince I think was the caller ID."

"Fuck."

Out of all people, it had to be him.

Grabbing her phone from Hasan, Maia opened her texts to see a plethora of messages from her team's group chat and Vince himself.

"You okay?" Hasan asked, worried.

Vince
1 missed call

Sparks
2 missed calls
- Maia, we have training at 11.
- Dude, you better hurry up. Vince isn't happy

"Yeah it's just- wait, what time is it?"

"Uh...12:30."

"I'm fucked," Maia said, rubbing her hand over her face.

"Damn, he's a real asshole," Hasan stated after Maia explained the hell of mess she had gotten herself into.

"Tell me about it," Maia said, flipping a pancake.

After sifting through the contents of Hasan's pantry, she had managed to find the ingredients for batter, even though he insisted they order breakfast after admitting to his lack of cooking skills.

"Are you gonna get in trouble for this?" Hasan asked, referring to her decision to skip the training session.

"Probably."

It was true. Maia was already preparing herself for a long lecture from Vince at their next scheduled practice.

"To be fair, it's not really my fault I'm missin' it right now," Maia said, taking a seat next to Hasan at his kitchen island. "Usually a coach will give at least a couple days notice before a newly scheduled training."

"And I'm assuming Vince didn't?" Hasan said with his mouth full.

"Damn right." Maia said, pouring syrup on her pancake. "He scheduled it this morning, which everyone's upset about. I'm not the only one missing practice right now."

Hasan opened his mouth to say something else, but his phone vibrated, causing him to instinctively check what it was.

Maia got a glimpse of some message about a podcast, but quickly looked away, not wanting to be nosey. It reminded her that Hasan was still a streamer, a pretty popular one at that.

"Hey, aren't you usually streaming right now?" She recalled.

"Yea, but I post postponed it," he said, a frown falling over his face. "I just hope people won't be...too upset about it."

"Too upset?" Maia exclaimed. "Don't you stream for fuckin' like 10 hours a day?"

"I know, I know," Hasan said, still looking at his phone. "It's a bad habit to think like that. I just- I cant help it."

After a few silent moments of Hasan typing, he looked up from his phone, grinning. "Also, how do you know when I stream? Do you watch them or something?"

"Oh shut up." Maia blushed, turning away from him.

"Hey." Hasan said, grabbing the side of Maias jaw to pull her back to him.

"I think you have syrup on your face." Hasan said, dragging his thumb across her bottom lip. "Right...here"

He leaned in, landing a soft kiss where his thumb was before pulling away.

Before he could get too far, Maia slid herself into Hasan's lap, smashing her lips back on his, getting lost in their own world once again.

In that moment, it was like there was never any streaming or basketball in the world.

Just each other.
