Short Chapter
Foyet had returned and the bastard was after Hotch and his family. Hotch got separated from the team, not on purpose but the man who was protecting his family had got seriously injured when he refused to give up any information on Haley's location. He got it anyway but the man from the marshals service had information on how he did so and Hotch needed it.

The team had arrived at Hotch's old house, racing inside. To be more of a sadistic bastard, Foyet called Hotch and killed Haley on the phone call. Cam was the first to run up the stairs, absolutely terrified as she heard thudding in the distance.

She got her gun out and herself, Morgan, Emily, Rossi and JJ, saw Hotch literally beating Foyet. They all could tell that that he was dead but it was clear that Hotch didn't care. "Aaron, stop!..."., Cam put her gun away, rushing up to him, trying to pull him off., "...He's gone! Aaron, stop it! He's dead!".

She managed to pull him away from Foyet but she fell back. Now she was laying on the ground and Hotch got up, running to another room. Morgan helped her up and she went after Hotch along with JJ, trying to figure out which room he went in.

She saw an open door and ran to the doorway, seeing Hotch getting Jack out of a trunk like box. "What happened to you, daddy?"., Cam's heart shattered, hearing the sentence. "I'm okay. ..."., his voice wavered., "...I want you to go with Miss Mackley and Miss Jareau, okay?".

Cam picked him up and took him outside. "Is daddy okay?"., Cam's heart shattered once more and an idea came into mind, hoping that would keep him distracted for a little bit. "Hey, how about we go turn on the lights and sirens?"., "okay"., Jack nodded and Cam and JJ took him to the SUV they came in.

After about ten minutes went by before Hotch walked out, covered in blood. She saw him looking around frantically. Cam knew he was looking for Jack so he picked him up and started walking over to him.

Hotch saw Jack and rushed up to Cam, taking him out of her arms. She watched as he embraced Jack - holding him close and it broke her heart. Her lips quivered and tears streamed down her cheeks.

She went back over to the SUV and sat down. She wanted to comfort him but she didn't want to disturb this. After a few minutes, a medic came over, motioning him to the ambulance. He gave Jack to JJ and walked over to the ambulance with medic.

She gave it a few minutes before she walked over. She saw him just staring at the ground, completely out of it. He stood up and went to leave but she stopped him. "Cam-..."., she stopped him by standing on her tippy toes and wrapping her arms around him.

He started to silently sob and her hand went to the back of his hair, running her fingers through it, a comforting touch. "Daddy?"., Hotch immediately pulled away from the hug, hearing Jack's voice and leaned down, picking him up., "I'll leave you alone"., Cam said sadly, going with JJ.

A Week Later
Cam arrived back home from the case, letting out a loud, sad sigh. It had been six days since she had talked to Hotch and she missed him but she completely understood, given the circumstances.

She felt horrible. The team left during the wake for a case that desperately needed the team's attention, but she wanted to check in with him. She grabbed her phone out of her bag and dialled Hotch's number. But it went straight to voicemail.

You've reached Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner. Please leave a detailed message. Thankyou.

Cam sighed and shook her head., "hi, Aaron. I was just calling to see if you or Jack needed anything. I..I wanted to ask how you are..but I guess that's a bad question, right?. ..."., Cam cleared her throat.

"...Uh anyway, just call me when you get this..or don't, I don't know. Anyway, I'm not sure what to say, uh..j-just know that I'm here for you, whatever you and Jack need". She hung up and chucked her phone down on the sofa, putting her bags down.

She didn't know what to do. She was never good at this part. She found it hard to deal with death, even worse when it was someone close. Given her occupation and the amount of death she comes across everyday, she found it odd and stupid that she had that problem.

She didn't know why she had the problem and it's not like she could ask her parents about it either. Even if she did, it's not like they would five her a good answer.

She went to the spare bedroom, opening the door. "Hey Teddy!"., she beamed and leaning down and patting him as he came running over. Cam gave him a hug and got up, checking the food and water bowl, seeing they were empty. "Let's get you something to eat, sweetie".

She grabbed them and went to the kitchen, getting out the food. "You hungry, buddy?"., Teddy barked and she chuckled, pouring the food in. Once she took the bowls back into the room, she gave him a pat and walked into her room, laying on her bed for a while.

She was pulled out of her thoughts, feeling Teddy jump on the bed, resting his head on her shoulder. She smiled and pat him, closing her eyes and falling asleep.

3am
Cam woke up to Teddy loud and piercing barking. "What?"., she said holding the 'what' longer then necessary. He continued to bark and she let out a loud, annoyed sigh. "You need to go to the toilet, don't you? Okay, let's go".

She got up and her shoulders slumped as she basically sleepwalked to the back door. While he went to the toilet she walked into the lounge area and picked up her phone she left on the sofa. She looked at the screen, seeing what the time was and the fact that the person she really wanted to hear from didn't get back to her.

She frowned at the screen and put it back down, going to her cupboard in the hallway, getting a blanket, turning the TV on. As soon as she put it on the sofa, she went to the kitchen, grabbing some microwave popcorn out of the cupboard and put it in the microwave.

While she waited for the popcorn, she tapped on the kitchen counter to a random tune in her head. She didn't want to go back to sleep so instead she was going to have a movie marathon, of all genres. She heard the patter of Teddy's feet and went to shut the back door.

She got a big bowl out of the cupboard and poured the popcorn in, getting the salt shaker. When she got back into the lounge area, she grabbed a random movie and put it on, getting comfortable on the sofa, Teddy coming to sit with her.
