part 10

"Today we will discuss the custody agreement of Miss Hill against Mr Hill and Miss Miller, everyone take your seats." The judge announced. Its been 3 days since Sam told me he loved me and now I'm sat in court behind my parents who both are fighting for custody of me.

Sam took the day of school to come with me aswell as the rest of his family. I felt my hand being lifted up and looked to my side to see Samuel placing a kiss on the back of it.

"Mr Hill why did your daughter come back to florida after moving to Washington DC with her mother?" The judge looked towards my father whos Lawyer stood up, "Miss Hill was unhappy with her former living situation at Miss Millers house and asked to move in with my client."

Multiple hours passed as I watched anxiously as the scene unfolded, I had zoned out for the last few minutes but my attention suddenly drew back in when I heard the words that came out of my mother's mouth, "Mr Hill, my ex husband, used to hit me repetitively. I would send Maddie up to her room to protect her."

Gasps flew out of peopled mouths across the room including my own. She's a liar! My father would never! I would've known.

I quickly buried my face into Sam's chest, trying to hold back my tears. I couldn't listen anymore. My dad's lawyer suddenly stood up, "your honour I would like 5 minutes to go over a few things with my client." I watched as the judge nodded his head and my dad and his lawyer quickly left followed by me following them behind.

I watched as they talked over their options from a few feet away. I heard chatter behind me and turned round to see the Johnsons talking. Samuel quickly walked over to me and wrapped me into a hug. "Its going to be okay. She doesn't have any proof that your dad hit her. She's clearly lying and she'll catch herself out soon." He whispered soothingly as I clutched onto him.

I looked up to see Mr and Mrs Johnson walking over to my dad.
"What are they doing?" I looked up at the boy who was watching them too. "They heard the judge say they are going to stop it hear and carry it on tommorow but you'd have to go to someone else's house untill then now there's a claim your dad has been violent so they're offering for you to stay at ours tonight.." he mumbled before locking eyes with me.

"How you feeling then?" He questioned.

"Im scared." I let out a sob as Samuel pulled me in again. "It's all going to be okay." He soothed while stroking my back comfortingly.

Everyone was now re-seated and the judge began speaking, "We have decided to end the case for today and continue it tommorow morning. For tonight Miss Hill will need a place to stay away from both parents due to the violence claims. Are there any volunteers before we send her to a group home?"

I watched as Mrs Johnson raised her hand, "We will your honour."
Everyone's eyes were now on Mrs Johnson. "Do Either Mr Hill, Miss Miller or Miss Hill decline to this placement?" The judge asked. My dad shook his head and I expected my mother to do the same but she didn't, "Your honour Mr Hill lives next door to the Johnsons according to my client how do we know Miss Hill won't just stay at Mr Hills?" The lawyer announced to the room.

"If Miss Hill agrees to staying there then she can not go into the house of either parents otherwise they will be fined." The judge looked round to both my parents, "Miss Hill do you agree to this overnight placement?" I felt like I couldn't speak when I saw everyone looking at me. I didn't know what to say. I ofcourse wanted to stay with them but couldn't get my words out. I looked at Samuel who had furrowed his eyebrows.

"Uh- I- uhm- Yeah-" I managed to get out. Before sinking down in my seat.

"Okay Maddie sweetie you will stay in Sams room and he can sleep on the sofa." Mrs Johnson announced as we walked into the house. "Oh uh I'm fine sleeping on the sofa Mrs Johnson..." I mumbled while taking off my shoes.

"Please call me Sarah, and you need a good night's sleep for tommorow, you'll likely be going on the stand." She protested as she walked towards the kitchen and started grabbing ingredients out of the fridge and cupboard.

Sam and I both went upstairs to his room where he gave me some of his shorts and a T-shirt which was massive on me.

"What movie do you want to watch?" The tall boy asked as I walked into his room, I glanced round and saw he had got some of my favourite snacks from when i was a kid and had everything set up for a movie night. I couldn't help but smile as I layed down on the bed.

"You choose.." I mumbled while sinking into the bed and shutting my eyes for a moment. "You tired? We don't have to watch a movie I just thought it would cheer you up a bit.." he mumbled while looking down at me.

"No, no it's fine.. I wanna watch a movie.." I yawned while opening my eyes and sitting up a bit more only to collapse on the boy who lay next to me.

*Sam's pov*

I looked at the girl who was lying on my chest trying to fight how tired she was, "Go to bed Maddie.. I'll go downstairs." I whispered while carefully sliding out from underneath her but she stops me from leaving by grabbing onto my wrist, "Please don't leave me... I'm scared..." she whispered back to me as I crouched down infront of her and cupped her face in my hands.

"Scared about what?" I placed small kisses over her face as I felt a tear roll down her cheek, "What if this is the last day we have together... I don't want to go back to Washington... I'm miserable there.. at least I have you here!" I watched as more tears poured out Maddies eyes.

"I'll be right back okay... I've just got to go ask something..." I stood up and began walking towards the living room where my parents
were sat. "Mum? Dad?" They both turned to look at me, "Uh, I think I know what your going to say but Maddies really scared and she doesn't want me to leave so uh... I was wondering if maybe... I could Uh maybe sleep in my room with her tonight..." I stumbled over my words as they both stared at me.

"Samuel. Your both only 16. We can't have babies running round the house. If you got her pregnant and she moves away it'll cost us alot in child support for you to rarely see the kid." My mum began lecturing me making me roll my eyes, "We'll sleep with the door open and you can keep yours open as they are facing eachother, and I don't think either of us are even ready for... that..."

No one said anything for a moment as my parents exchanged looks between eachother. "Okay but on two conditions: Door stays open and you both stay fully clothed." My Dad announced making a huge grin appear on my face. "Thankyou! Thankyou!" I exclaimed while going back upstairs. I walked into my room and looked at the girl who was laying on my bed with her eyes closed.

"Maddie?" I whispered while sitting down on the bed next to her as she opened her eyes to look at me. "My parents said I can sleep in here tonight aslong as we keep the door open if that's what you want...." I watched as a small smile grew on her face as she sat up.

"Yeah... yeah okay.." she grinned before connecting our lips with a giggle. I slowly pulled away after she began tugging at the bottom of my shirt, "wait- wait... we can't.. not tonight..." I mumbled.

"Why not? Your parent and sister is downstairs we can be quiet.." she smirked while climbing onto my lap and kissing my neck, "No... No maddie... you'll regret it.. neither of us have done anything before and this shouldn't be our first time..." I sighed while gently pushing her off my lap. "So what? I want to... and I won't regret it if its with you!" She whined while crossing her arms and sitting back down.

"Maddie come on... your just upset and... and... well you know.. but either way I'm not going to have sex with you in these circumstances..."
