"I am going to slow down the speed of your iv drip a bit since you are doing so well." Bev hums to them as she sets up the pump beside them. Unable to help the smirk on her face as she feels the confused looks behind her from both women without even having to look at this point. "When you first came in you really needed a fast drip with every single special addition, we had with how bad you arrived and how much blood you were losing. We have gradually been able to work you down to just a plain saline solution. It is like you are drinking water, but it goes straight to your bloodstream so you can stay hydrated. It helps make sure your body is able to heal and keep working." She explains patiently with a smile as both nod in understanding.
"So that is why I had to pee so much." Lexa exhales in realization as Indra chortles.
"Correct. You, my dear, scared the daylights out of us having to rush you into emergency surgery like that. We wanted to make sure your kidneys were okay after all that. No way we were taking chances with you after that one." Bev huffs over at Lexa with a pointed look.
"Yeah, she did the same to me and I wasn't even here." Indra deadpans with eyebrows raised at Lexa. The brunette grins a bit at them as Bev walks back over with her meds.
"Time for meds, isn't it?" Lexa sighs with a frown. Those always make her sleep, and she liked being awake for the fun with everyone here.
"It is. But this is the longest you have been awake since you arrived. I am quite proud." Bev gushes unabashedly, earning a bigger smile. "Which also makes sense why your pain levels are so high right now... correct?" She hums knowingly.
"How'd you?" Lexa asks frustratedly.
"Your heart rate gave you away." Bev chuckles as Indra sighs and rolls her eyes.
"Well thank god you got someone who sees through your stubbornness." Indra mutters with a roll of her eyes.
"Should've seen how fun it was to tell the blonde she was taking family medical leave until her fiancé was better." Bev laughs back in agreement.
"Oh, you two are perfect for one another alright." Indra huffs in amusement.
"Exactly what I said too." Bev agrees with a wink before cleaning up and moves back out of the room to continue finishing her paperwork.
Both wait until the nurse leaves and her footsteps echo down the empty hall before either speaks.
"Lexa, you should've said something if you were in pain." Indra chastises worriedly, taking the girl's hand protectively in her own.
"I didn't want to sleep and miss anything." Lexa whines sulking, pulling a soft smile from the austere woman's face. Reminding her so clearly of when Lexa was smaller in that orphanage with the other two hooligans and Indra was just a lowly 2nd shift caregiver. Not having a clue how far they would come together in the slightest.
"I am glad you have Clarke. I like her." Indra hums over at Lexa as a soft smile works across the brunette's face.
"She saved my life, Indra." Lexa whispers with a bite of her lip. Indra turns and locks eyes with those deep green eyes. "I'm serious. I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for her." She admits softly.
"Thank god for her." Indra sighs thankfully, wiping a few stray tears from her face. "The next two months, I don't want you to even think of work. I just want you to focus on healing." She states seriously with a pointed look.
"Two months?!" Lexa gapes stunned.
"You. Almost. Died. Lexa. You know just as well as I do that the company practically runs itself at this point. It will STILL be there when Clarke says you are well enough to start gradually getting back in. And that is IF you want to get fully back in. You do have that option too." Indra points out gently as she tucks a curl behind Lexa's ear. Smiling at how those eyes are getting heavy already.
