"Clarke? I just sent you home... what are... seriously?" Jackson, the ER lead, gapes when he sees the familiar blonde walk in. Clarke had practically grown up in this hospital. Everyone knew her, it was inevitable when they saw you coloring on the tile floors or napping in staff rooms as a kid.
"The fiancé's yours isn't it..." The man mutters with a deadpan of annoyance. Rolling his dark eyes and huffing in exasperation.
"Possibly..." Clarke shrugs casually, erupting Harper behind her.
"What? Can you blame her with what the chief did with the last one?" Monty chuckles in amusement. These words have Lexa's hazy drug filled self-coming back to surface and whipping around to look at Clarke. Her tan face is a bit paler now and those eyes could not get any bigger.
"Chief? What'd they do?" Lexa stammers as she attempts to form full sentences under this strong stuff.
"Oh right... My mom is the chief physician of Arcadia General..." Clarke explains quietly.
"Here? Your mom is in charge of YOUR hospital?" Lexa gapes loudly as the others around her cackle at the blonde conveniently forgetting to inform her fiancé of this little factoid.
"It'll be fine. Don't worry. I got it under control." Clarke assures casually as Harper snorts in spite of herself.
"You owe me fifty bucks!" Harper grins triumphantly as she passes Monty with the stretcher. Instantly his face falls in annoyance and mutters a colorful sounding word of annoyance.
"You bet on me?" Clarke mutters, annoyed, slapping Harper who cackles loudly.
"Oh yeah... saw right through that... I am too busy to date' charade you kept saying." Harper grins triumphantly.
"You are unbelievable!" Clarke hisses, slapping her friend who grins triumphantly back. "Seriously... Just don't say it too loud. I would like to keep her out of our fucking room as long as I can." Clarke hisses glaring around them as they walk.
"Why am I not surprised to see your face?" Beverly, the charge nurse mutters when they round the corner. Clarke just grins impishly and shrugs causing the woman to chuckle and shake her head.
"Want me to take it?" Helen asks with a smirk.
"Oh no... this one is mine." Bev voices authoritatively, making Clarke smirk.
"Twenty bucks to anyone who stalls my mother the longest from barging into our room!" Clarke calls over her shoulder as they disappear into their room. The laughter that erupts behind them is boisterous at best. Right along with the loud call of attention that comes right after.
"Alright, you heard her. Battle stations everyone." A loud voice calls out as feet scamper from the nurses' station and Lexa turns with eyebrows raised at the blonde.
"See. I told you I had everything handled." Clarke grins happily as Beverly snorts in amusement and hands over a stack of paperwork for her start on. The blonde simply takes it without a word and sits in the nearest chair to start filling it out.
"Alexandrea..." Beverly starts as she turns.
"Lexa..." The brunette states with a grimace as they situate her on the bed. The twinge of pain in her voice has Clarke whipping her head up instantly.
"Lexa, then. My name is Beverly, but you can call me Bev like that one over there and the rest of the staff do." Bev warmly states as she helps the stretcher board out from under Lexa and pulls a gown from the drawer. Gently pulling the curtain closed as she prepares to help Lexa into the gown while Clarke continues on that mound of paperwork. The minute those green eyes see the scissors coming out of Bev's pocket the brunette frowns up at the woman.
