Abby stayed and chatted while Lexa slept for most of that morning. Watching tv and reading her book. It was one the most relaxing encounters Clarke can EVER remember having with her mother since her father passed. Usually it always involved arguing, usually quite loudly and in her direction. But this visit was so casual and normal that it was almost stunning for Clarke. Hesitant to so much as move or breathe in fear the moment might shatter unexpectedly around her.
"You should try to sleep if you can. I will go visit with the nurses a bit." Abby whispers knowingly since Bev was off last night. She had a feeling it was a rough one.
"Tempting. Changed her IV myself last night." Clarke mutters with a sleepy grin.
"Can't say I am surprised." Abby huffs rolling her eyes.
"She blew on her arm after she cleaned it, Mom. Like really? No way was she touching Lexa after that one. I just got her to sleep." Clarke whispers rants causing Abby to chuckle softly. "I mean don't worry I taught her through it and all that, but I could just tell she was nervous about waking her. I knew I could do it even half asleep. Plus there was no way in hell I was risking it. Lexa is terrified of needles. If she woke up... god it would be an event getting her back down." She sighs rolling her eyes.
"Yes, Bev and I figured as much since she was off last night. Also why I came in knowing you would more than likely need the coffee." Abby winks.
"You didn't have to, Mom. It's your day off." Clarke starts again.
"Shh.. Of course I do. You are here so I am here. That is what mothers do. Especially mothers who run the entire hospital said kid is currently staying at." Abby whispers back like it was obvious causing a small smirk from Clarke to form.
"Seriously, try and get some sleep. I will pretend like I am working and freak people out. It's one of the few joys I get from this position." Abby smiles before rising from her seat to leave the two to sleep. Clarke chuckles as she watches her mother go stir things up just because she can. Blue eyes watch her mom leave before laying back with a heavy sigh into the couch bed. Hands behind her head and staring up at the ceiling with a smirk as she listens to slow deep breaths of Lexa sleeping beside her. Watching the sunlight dance on the ceiling between the heavy curtains and blinds.

The next Clarke is aware of is the rustling of someone moving in the hospital bed beside her before a warm sensation of someone holding her hand registers. Blue eyes pop open and blink a few times as they try to gather her surroundings again. Realizing she must have fallen asleep right about the time she remembers who is in the room with her and quickly looks up where her hand is above her head. Somehow Lexa has moved to hold it and seems almost as bewildered as Clarke looks.
"I thought I was dreaming it." Lexa mutters stunned. "I was walking down this street and all the trees started turning different colors. Purple. Red. Blue. Yellow. Then multi-colored.... And then they turned to jello but still up in the tree shape... Just very wiggly and stuff. But the road under my feet turned to cereal and it started raining milk and sliced strawberries. And there was this cheerio that looked like a hand. So I walked up to it and took hold of it. And woke up." She rambles with her rough just woke up voice.
"Wow, were those some excellent drugs they gave you last night." Clarke cackles in borderline hysterics.
"Yeahhhh!" Lexa exhales rubbing her eyes and stopping to frown at her arm.
"We changed your IV last night when you were sleeping." Clarke laughs in amusement.
"Oh thanks." Lexa smiles tiredly.
