Sunshine glistened off the crystal champagne glasses. Blue and yellow runners lined the various banquet tables and pots of flowers decorated the smaller round tables for guests to sit at. Bows lined the backs of the wooden picnic chairs. The entire scene looked idyllic and very... royal. Bleugh.
Seated under the cool shade of a large oak, Eva stabbed her fork into the food on her plate. As she speared the appetising slice of cake, the Grimhilde twin did her best to repress the comments her mother made.

During their last Remedial Goodness class, Fairy Godmother tried to bring some familial joy to the VKs. Rolling out a large television screen, the good fairy beamed at the children as the faces of their parents appeared. Unfortunately, the outcome was less than stellar and the warm lady was feeling a tad guilty. Mal was hounded about how soon they would be returning for a visit (or, more specifically, when Maleficent could expect to have her hands on the wand). Carlos was scolded for the new friend he held in his arms, and the Evil Queen began questioning whether Eva was spending too much time at the buffet table.

At the idea that she might have put on ten pounds, the young girl had gone to her room and changed immediately. Her roommates had stood outside their shared bathroom and pretended not to hear her sob. The reality was that she'd actually lost some weight due to eating a healthy, balanced diet.

"When I said the cake was to die for, I really meant you should try it." Parker commented. "You have to actually put it in your mouth."

A wry smile crossed her face and she nudged the china plate in his direction. "I guess I'll have to die then. Will it be by your hand or shall natural causes take me?"

The mischievous boy rolled his eyes before scarfing down her slice of chocolate cake. Waste not, want not. Little roses were printed around the edge of the plate, chocolate frosting now smeared over them. Matching teacups sat on little saucers but most of them remained empty; it seemed to be too hot for coffee. The garden was filled with the students of Auradon Prep and their prestigious family members.

Family Day was a cheerful affair that allowed loved ones to gather after their children had spent the semester living in the castle-turned-educational institute. Laughter drifted from the gathered groups as they all reunited. The villains' offspring had never seen so much finery in one place. Granted, they'd never really seen finery before. With Parker by her side, Eva relaxed slightly and did her best to ignore the wary stares of her 'peers' around her.

Having ditched his dinner jacket the minute they sat down, Parker was dressed in a fitted green shirt. A red tie stood out starkly against it. Thankfully, Eva managed to convince him to ditch the brown trousers before he left his dorm room. Scanning the crowd (and trying to lick chocolate frosting off his cheek), the green-eyed boy grinned when he spotted a familiar face in the crowd. Pushing his chair back, he held his hand out to the blue-haired girl.
