When Jungkook heard this question, his eyes widened and tears welled up in them again.

I had the strong urge to go to him and take him in my arms, but Jungkook wouldn't let me get near him.

"Hey hey hey, don't cry."
I tried to calm him down but it didnt worked.
I sighed once more and knelt in front of him like before in the alley, whereupon he startled and desperately pressed himself closer to the wall.

"Listen Jungkook..."
The smaller one kept his eyes on me as tears streamed down his flushed cheeks.
"...if you don't at least tell me what I can do to gain your trust, I can't help you."

I tried to explain to him seriously, whereupon the boy became more and more panicked.
Without saying any more, I left the room and sat down in my kitchen.

I was annoyed that I didn't know what was wrong with him.
I just wanted to help him.

Out of stress I made myself another coffee and sat down at the table again.
I sipped my coffee, offended.

After finishing my coffee, I decided to go grocery shopping.
Since I couldn't take Jungkook with me, I decided to tell him that i would be gone for some time.

As I entered my bedroom another mla, I could see the boy crying in the corner.
It broke my heart.
I didn't want to see him cry, I wanted to see what his smile looked like or how his laughter sounded.

"Hey buddy, I'm sorry I just left.
I'm still a bit overwhelmed with the situation, but I'll try to get to you, I promise!"

Without looking at me, he pushed himself back into the corner from which he had crawled out a little earlier.
I walked closer to him, which is why he pressed himself more against the wall again.

"I will have to leave you alone for a short time to buy groceries.
Do you think you can stay in this house alone for that time?"
I smiled softly at the boy, who just nodded slightly.

I took the plunge and put my hand on his head.
Jungkook flinched at first, but he didn't do anything against my hand other than squeeze his eyes shut.

"And please don't cry, you're much prettier when you smile."
