Chapter 8: Step By Step

"I-I'm p-pregnant" the hands which had been caressing my cheeks instantly fell. He seemed frozen as he stared at me. I saw his jaws clench.
"How far along are you?" He asked, making me gulp. His voice was no longer soft, I knew he was angry I had kept it from him. I had just never knew how to tell him, with everything that was happening.

"A couple of weeks." I said, he let out a sigh, before standing up and pacing around the hut. He ran his fingers into his hair, making me stand up but I stayed put on my legs.
"When did you find out?" He asked as he stopped turning to look at me, the pain in his eyes could be clearly seen which only made me feel even more guiltier for hiding it from him.

"Two weeks before the wedding, I-I thought-"
"You thought what, Kelsey. Where you ever planning on telling me, if we weren't stranded in the middle of the forest?" He asked, his voice had risen making me flinch at him.

"I was going to tell you, it was supposed to be your wedding gift. But our wedding never happened." I said, making him scoff as he approached me. He placed both his hands on mg arms.

"What about after, I called you numerous times. I tried to meet you, I texted you. But not once did you answer, not once did you think I had the right to know." He spat out making me flinch. I felt my tears roll down my cheeks. I bit my lower lips to prevent myself from crying.

"I-I was going to tell you, I-I just needed time." I whispered, but I knew he had heard but he let go of my arms sighing.
"Needed time to tell me I was going to be a father, I get to live the moments I never got to live with Mabel. And more over the mother is the women I love to bits." He said making me look at him, he cupped my face leaning his forehead until it was against me.

"I just don't want the baby to be the reason for you to stay with me, I don't want a compromised life. I need you to know who you want, because I can't be the fool." I said, he sigh before pulling away from me, making me frown at him.

"I don't know what else to say or how to prove it to you, Kelsey. You are who I want, who I desire. Who I see getting married to, who I want thousands of babies with. It's only you. I love you." He said, making me let out a small sob, I rushed into his arms wrapping my own arms around him.

"I love you too." I whispered, feeling like I was able to say anything I want at the moment. I just wanted the world to freeze, so I could remain in his arms forever.
"But I can't rush into everything with you." I said after a long pause, stepping away I looked at him and he nodded his head in understanding.

"We can take it step by step, as long as you don't avoid me." He said and I let out a little chuckle and nodded my head whilst wiping my tears away with the back of my palms.
"I promise." I said and he nodded his head and kissed my forehead.

"I promise to love you and our baby till my last breath." He said vowing to me, I felt as if I was living in a moment. Enjoying each and every moment I had.
"C-Can I ask you a favour." I said stuttering, he nodded his head for me to go on.
"Anything." He said, and I nodded my head at him.

"Can you not mention my pregnancy to anyone, no one knows other than Ariel." I said and he stood thinking for a moment before nodding his head.
"Do I feel hurt that Ariel knows about your pregnancy before me, hell yeah. But we move on." He half jokes making me slap his chest, I heard him laugh and I joined in with him. It felt like it had been a while since I was able to talk so care free.

"I'm sorry, it was wrong of me from keeping it from you." I said and he nodded his head, I knew he was trying to hide the fact he was hurt but I also knew he understood me. I could see the excitement he held for the unborn baby and I could not help but share the same emotions to our baby.

"Let me show you and our baby my love for you both from today onwards." He said I could feel my cheeks become red from blushing, I cleared my throat seeing the smirk on his face making me roll my eyes playfully.

"I'm not going anywhere." I whispered making him smile widely, he wrapped his arms around my waist pecking my nose. I scrunched making him chuckle.
"Your so adorable, I love it." He said, making me blush even harder.
"Well you certainly know how to make a pregnant women feel good." I said making him chuckle, which I joined him.

"Only for you." He said winking, I rested my head on his chest, before I yawned.
"Let's get you to sleep." He said as he laid down, with my head on his chest. My arms were around his waist, a smile on my face as I cuddled into his arms.

"How will we get our belongings back?" I asked him, I could already feel him falling asleep.
"We will find the closest phone booth tomorrow, I'll let my men know and they will my car and our belongings back and also take us back home." He said and i hummed. It was not long before he had fallen asleep, but I remained awake, my eyes staring at the fire as I listened to his heart beat.

I suddenly felt as if we were being watched, I turned to look but I could see anyone in the dark. I shook the thought away before closing my eyes and deciding to go sleep.
