"And then it came, the end of every story"
——
Three months later
Upon further search of the place I had been held captive, Damien's men had discovered many body a total of fifteen skeletons. They were all female body parts, instantly knowing they were the victims of Katherine's obsession and craziness.
With the help of Damien's men we were able to discover who's dead body was who's, the age of the women of when they died were around eighteen to twenty, from four years and before. All women had went to the same highschool or college as him. I felt saddened that they case had been closed and left unsolved.
We had sent one men each to every house delivering the bodies. I had watched from afar as parents broke down, those who held hope of their daughter returning crumbling to the ground clutching the coffin which held their skeleton.
As for Damien, the drug Katherine had injected inside of him was to make him unconscious but not dead, the doctors were able to extract the drug from his body but he still remained weak and under observation for a good month.
Father and I had decided to lie to mother, knowing how much she loved Katherine. We did not have the heart to tell her about her death, so instead we told her Katherine was ashamed for what she had done and decided to disappear. Mother had cried but she was ashamed and disappointed from what Katherine had done.
I had told Damien about the truth of his father's death, I remember watching his break down into tears. I had clutched him tightly to my chest as I whispered into his ears, that his father loved him and was so proud of him. But at times I knew he blamed himself for his fathers death, but he still kept a smile on his face not forgetting to love me and appreciate me.
One thing I had learnt was the past always has a way to turn, in some way to shape a better you and in others to bring out the worst. I won't say I had moved on from what had happened, I still get nightmares but then I take a step forward with a smile on my face appreciating my present and those who love me.
I stood holding my fathers hands, my stomach fluttering in nervousness. I had worn a white princess gown, with a long tail going to the back. My belly had began to show, and it only made me feel more beautiful.
As the music began to play, I walked down the aisle watching Damien stand in the same position he had before. But inside my heart I knew this time everything would go perfect. As Damien took my hand from my father, I stood in front of him with a smile on my face.
"Welcome, loved ones. We are gathered here today to join Damien De Luca and Kelsey McGuire in holy matrimony. Repeat after me I Damien De Luca, promise to cherish you always, to honour and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us."
Damien repeated what the priest asked him to say with a smile on his face, we intertwined our fingers together.
"I do." I said loudly making Damien's smile widen.
"I Kelsey Mcguire take Damien De Luca as my husband and promise to cherish you always, to honour and sustain you, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, and to be true to you in all things until death alone shall part us." I repeated what they said said and waited for Damien to say His 'I do'.
"I do." He said, we turned to look at the priest.
"If anyone has any objections speak now or forever hold your peace." The priest said waiting for a few minutes, me and Damien just stared into each other's eyes today was the day we would be come one our surnames would become one.My stomach clenched together in fear someone to pop in and object.
"I object." My eyes snapped towards the voice, my eyebrows narrowing as it fell on Mabel who was dressed in a beautiful pink dress.
"Mabel." I whisper, in confusion.
"I'm just kidding." She winked at me making everyone burst out laughing, I shook my head at her with a smile on my face.I turned to look at Damien and smiled.
"From today onwards, in the eyes of god you both are now husband and wife. Mr Damien De Luca, you may kiss your bride." Damien lifted my veil, I smiled at him before sending him a wink he let out a chuckle before leaning forward to kiss me. I wrap my around his neck, as our lips connected.
This was my happy ending, it had alot of ups and downs but here I was where I belong in the arms of the man I love.
"Kelsey De Luca." He whispered against my lips, making me smile at him.
"I like the sound of that, dear husband." I said before we both broke out into a fit out laughter. The End
Omg this book is over, I will not lie I was beginning to think I was never going to finish it. Book 2's are always harder than the first one, but I generally enjoyed writing this series. I can now rest my fingers, knowing I do not have to stress.
