Chapter Two: The Witch's Curse

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐈 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫.

The next morning Steve dropped Mariya at Max's just like he promised. Mariya steps out of the car and smiles to him.

"I'll stop by Family Video to see Robin" She says.

"We'll be there" Steve says as he nods and drives away.

Mariya walks towards Max's house and knocks the door. As she waits for some seconds, she looks behind her at Eddie's trailer, thinking to wake him up brutally, later.

Max opens the door and goggles her eyes. She laughs and hugs her best friend.

"What the hell? That's like, the best morning surprise I could ever get" Max says and releases Mariya from her tight hug.

Mariya chuckles and steps inside the house "I'd visit yesterday, but we had-"

"Yes, I know. Dustin asked me to play" Max says.

"And you definitely refused, I can imagine how that went" She says.

Mariya sits on Max's bed, taking off her shoes. Max sits down next to her.

"How are you?" Mariya asks as she places a hand on her shoulder.

"I don't know..."

"Do you still have nightmares?" Max nods "And the headaches?"

Max nods again and Mariya hugs her "Why didn't you tell me you still had them? I would come straight from California for you" Mariya says.

"We have school" Max says.

Mariya looks at her "You think I care?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't wish to disturb you" Max says.

"Yeah, like my life's not already disturbed" Mariya says and laughs, alongside Max.

Suddenly, police sirens are being heard all over the area. The girls look at each other and walk outside to see what happened.

Police vehicles are parked outside Eddie's trailer. Mariya's heart is bouncing inside her chest like crazy. She hopes Eddie is okay.

Max walks forward and tries to see what is going on, but Mariya can't seem to move. She just stands there as she's shaking.

After a few seconds, Max returns and looks at Mariya terrified. She knows how close she is with Eddie and that she is worried for her friend.

"It's Chrissy...Chrissy Cunningham" Max says.

Minutes later, Max and Mariya went over to Dustin's house. Mariya rings the bell and Dustin opens the door, very quick. He sees that both girls are shaking and look terrified.

The three of them sit in Dustin's room as they explain to him what they saw.

"Chrissy Cunningham?" Dustin asks "You're sure it was Chrissy?" He asks Max.
