Chapter Four: The Monster and The Superhero

𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐈'𝐦 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝?

Mariya sits alone in the house watching TV as she waits for Steve to return. She is very nervous about seeing her sister again. Then she a thought that travels in her mind is that he might not return with her, but she can only hope that Steve will come back with Elvira and not alone.

The phone rings and she gets up to pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Uh, hi...Mariya how are you?" Patrick says over the phone.

"Um, Patrick, hi. I didn't think that you'd call so fast"

"Yeah, Lucas gave me the number and I thought I should call you and talk to you" He says.

"That's...very nice. I'm glad you did, actually"

"So, are you free tomorrow night?"

Mariya thinks about it, as all of her thoughts are passing by her mind within seconds. They have Vecna, Eddie and Elvira on their minds. Going on dates isn't a very good time.

But on the other hand it wasn't just a date. It was Patrick. The boy she always liked and maybe one date is not gonna hurt anybody, but will get her mind off of everything.

"Yeah, it sounds great" She says.

"Really? Oh, wow...Thank you, I mean... God, I'm so nervous. I'm sorry, it's just that I really like you and I'm very happy to hear you want to hang out with me"

Mariya blushes and bites her lip.

"I like you too, a lot. So, do not think I'm 100% calm right now, and stuff are going on so...I kinda needed this" She says.

"Well, then that's great. I'll pick you up at...7 is that good?"

"Yeah, that's perfect"

"I'm looking forward to it" He says.

"Me too"

"Goodnight"

"Goodnight, Patrick"

She hungs up the phone and smiles. The door opens with force, as Steve storms inside the house. He grabs her jacket and tosses it over to her.

"Get up, we gotta go" Steve says.

"What? Where are we going?" She asks.

"No further questions, put on your shoes and let's go" He says. Mariya puts on her shoes and takes her radio to inform Dustin "Come on! I said hurry"

"Wait, I need to tell Dustin" Mariya says.

"No, no just you! Nobody else, just you. And take your shotgun with you" Steve tells her.

"What are you talking about, Steve? Where is Elvira?" She asks.

"I'll explain it on the way! Come on, now!" Steve yells.
