Chapter Five: Dear Billy (Dear Elvira)

𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞

Sometimes us, people see unexplainable things during our time of the day. Things that confuse us, hurt us or corrupt us. And we cannot fully understand which part is us.

This is exactly what happens with our heroes the past few years. With everything they've been through, they've experienced a lot of trauma for their age. But this one, is different. This time, there is someone who causes the trauma to appear and slowly take them away from this world.

Everyone stands behind Max as they look at an empty wall in front of them. The grandfather clock has disappeared from her sight. Looking confused, she starts shaking and losing her mind.

"It was here. Right here" Max says.

"A grandfather clock?" Nancy asks her.

"It was so real. And then, when I got closer,
suddenly I just.... I woke up"

"It was like she was in a trance or something. Exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy" Dustin tells them.

Max turns to face the others "That's not even the bad part"

At Ms. Kelley's office, Max starts telling the story. Scattered around the surface of the desk are Kelley's files and notes.

"Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Miss Kelley for help. They both were having headaches, bad headaches that wouldn't go away. And then the nightmares. Trouble
sleeping. They'd wake up in a cold sweat. Then they started seeing things. Bad things. From their pasts. And these visions, they kept on getting worse and worse until eventually... Everything ended" Max explains.

"The Witch's curse" Robin says.

Mariya closes her eyes and sighs as she walks towards the window.

"Chrissy's headaches started a week ago. Fred's six days ago. I've been having them for five days. I don't know how long I have. All I know is that for Fred and Chrissy, they both died less than twenty-four hours after their first vision. And I just saw that goddamn clock, so. Looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow" Max says.

"No" Mariya says and turns around quickly, walking towards Max "I am not going to let that happen. Never, do you hear me?"

"There's no way to reverse this!" Max says.

"I don't care! I will find a way, I'm not losing you! I can't, I already lost a sister, I left the other one miles away, I can't lose another one" Mariya says.

A metalic clang echoes through the empty halls of Hawkins High.

"Stay here" Steve makes his way to the open door. He grabs a floor lamp on the way out the door.

Mariya arms her gun and tries to follow him.

"I said stay here" Steve tells her.

"And you thought I was going to listen?" She asks.

"Can you just for once do what you are told?" He asks her.

She sighs and lowers her gun "Fine"

Steve nods and leaves the office. As he walks inside the school, Mariya follows him first. He turns around and looks at her and scoffs.
