A/N - Morning breath doesn't exist in this book. Just sayin :)
Sage's POV:
I wake up in Kara's arms. She's still asleep, but Adri and Mae are not. They're on air mattress giggling and facing each other.
"It's like.. eight in the morning. Why are you flirting?" I ask. They look at me.
"Because! Shush, Sage!" Mae says, before facing Adri again. I look at sound asleep Kara and move her hair out of her face.
"My pretty baby," I whisper, kissing her lips softly. She opens her eyes and smiles at me.
"Good morning, my love," she says, before kissing me.
"How's your leg?" I ask. She looks at it, then at me.
"If I told you it really fucking hurt, would you feel bad?" I sigh.
"Yeah.." she kisses me softly.
"Well. It feels fantastic. But where are the pain meds?" I laugh and stand up.
"Hold on. I'll get 'em for you." She nods, and go downstairs, where I see my father sitting at the island.
"You know, you have a lot of nerve, Sage," he says. We hold eye contact. It's too early for this bullshit. I was just happy.
"What do you mean?" I ask. He sighs and puts his coffee down.
"I mean having your brother threaten me like that. And you just let him. Do you not care about me, Sage?"
No, Motherfucker what the hell?
Be fucking for real...
"Dad will you leave her alone? It's like eight in the morning," April says, coming downstairs.
"Question her later," she adds, fastening her earring."Anyway. Sage, can you take me to target?"
"It's not open until 9:30, my love," I say, grabbing Kara's meds from out the cabinet. I look at her.
"I can take you to dunkin before, if you'd like?" I ask. She gasps.
"Yes! Please?!" I nod.
"Alright. My girls are tagging along. Is that okay?" She nods.
"Of course! Can I be in there while you get ready?! I find you guys so cool." I laugh.
"Of course, my love." We go upstairs.
"April!! Hey baby! Are you excited for your freshman year?!"
"No, what the fuck?" She says, plopping down on my bed next to Kara.
"You should be. High school is great. Kinda. It also really sucks. But it's great, too!" Adrianna says. I hand Kara her meds and a Gatorade.
"If anyone messes with you though let us know! Cause I will not be afraid to go off on one of the seniors now who was scared of me last year!" Mae says.
"Maven, shut up. No one is going to mess with you, my love. Not with me as your sister," I say.
"Oh yeah I forgot you were popular!! Not mean popular, right?" April asks.
"No, Lili. Nice popular of course. I was smart, did my work, and was nice to people. I left with a good rep. And I want you to keep it on our name. K?"
"Why do you call me Lili when my name is April?!" She asks. "But I will. Don't worry."
"Because your middle name is Liliana?" I ask.
"Oh, right! I forgot about that!" I shake my head.
"Alright babes! We're going to target! So.. get up! Well, we're going to dunkin first." I open the curtains.
