Sage's POV:
"But mama, I'm in love with a criminal!!" I shout, at the top of my lungs.
"Oh my god, do you guys want to go to Las Vegas?" I ask.
"That's a six hour drive, love," Kara says.
"Who is going to stop us?! Yes!! I say do it!" Adrianna says.
"We've already been on the highway for two hours. Only four more hours."
"We'll get there at 12 am. No food, no clothes, no hotel. I don't know. Maybe tomorrow?" Kara says.
"Oh true! You're so smart. Well!" I turn into the nearest exit and get on the other side of the freeway.
"We'll pack our bags and go early! Yeah?" I ask.
"Works with me," Adrianna says. I look at passed-out Maven in the rearview mirror and smile.
"Aw. You wore her out in that target bathroom, hm?" I ask. Her eyes widen.
"Sage Savannah!! No, I did not! We did no such thing! Do you know how dirty it is in those stalls?!" I smile at her.
"I'm teasing. But you got a bit too defensive so I'm starting to reconsider." I wink at her, and she flips me off.
"Fuck you." I smile.
"No!" I say, smiling. She yawns and puts her head in Maven's lap.
"I love that you keep blankets in your car," she says, grabbing one of them.
"Always. Car naps hit different with a blanket." I look at Kara.
"You alright, darling?" I ask, grabbing her hand and rubbing the top of her palm with my thumb.
"Yeah. My knee hurts, is all."
"Because you haven't taken your meds since like 8 am." I reach into my purse and hand them to her with a water bottle.
"You just have a bottle of water and pills in your purse?" I nod.
"Yes! For you!" She grins and kisses me.
"You're amazing!" I smile.
"I know."

Now, after packing, we're baking cookies in my kitchen. I'm playing music on my mom's record player. And we're listening to Britney Spears.
Who doesn't love old Britney?
"Oh my gosh, hi guys!" April says, coming in with Kara's sister, Poppy.
"Hey, Lili! Hi Poppy! You guys are just in time. You can crack the eggs if you'd like! We're making cookies and brownies," I say smiling. Adrian, Adrianna's brother comes in.
"Hey. Did mom call you? She's home!" He says.
"Yeah! She did! And we also saw her in target. Me and Mae." He sits at the table, and I move my hips to the song.
"Wait. Vlogs!" Mae says, putting up a camera. I stick my tongue out and smile.
"Vlogs! Hi!!" I say, smiling.
"But mama, I'm in love with a criminal!" I sing with the spoon that I'm using to mix my brownie batter.
"And this type isn't rational, it's physical!" Kara sings into the spoon.
"Mama, please don't cry, I will be alright.." my-
"MOM?! MOM!! OH MY GOD!!" I scream, voice breaking. She smiles.
