11 - girls trip

Sage's POV:

I know my mom just came home, but we're still going to Vegas for the weekend.

Don't get mad! We left late. But now it's nine pm, I'm exhausted, and the other two fell asleep.

And there's no way I'm making Kara drive. She says it makes her anxious. I will never put her in that position.

"You alright, baby? Do you want to stop at a gas station?" I sigh.

"Yeah. I need caffeine," I say. She nods.

"I'll get it for you." I shake my head.

"It's okay. I got it." I get off on an exit.

"No. I want to." She smiles at me. I pull into a gas station.

"Alrighty then!" She gets out, and I yawn. I place my head against the steering wheel and close my eyes.

"Baby. Baby," Kara says, rubbing my back. I look at her.

"It's been 30 minutes. I woke you up now because it's in the lightest realm of your sleep cycle. Either 30 minutes or 3 hours. And I think you'd get mad if I let you sleep for 3 hours." I smile.

"You're hot when you're smart," I say. She grins.

"I got you Red Bull, monster, bang, and regular Starbucks coffee. I always saw you with them, but I don't know which one is your favorite!" I smile and kiss her.

"Oh, man. Kara.." I kiss all over her face and open the monster.

"I prefer Starbucks. That's my to go to. But.. this gets the energy going quickest," I say.

"Noted." She smiles at me, and I take a sip and sigh.

"Okay! Let's do this. Only four hours left!" I say. She giggles.

"I won't fall asleep. I'll stay up with you the whole time to keep you company." I look at her.

"Let's get married by an Elvis impersonator while we're there. Yeah?" I ask. She laughs.

"I mean, we're lesbians. I'm surprised we haven't bought our own apartment together yet," she says.

"We will! In two months! Or three. Either one." She smiles and kisses my hand.

"Of course. With open windows so we can see campus?" I nod.

"Of course, my love." My mom FaceTimes. I set my phone up on the stand and pick up.

"Hi baby! I'm calling to see how you're doing. You were stopped at a gas station for 30 minutes. You okay?"

"Yeah. I fell asleep and Kara let me. In her words, 30 minutes or 3 hours and some shit about your sleep realm cycle thing.. I don't know."

"Those were her words? I doubt that." I shoot her a glare, and she smiles.

"Yes. That's when your sleep realm is the lightest. You'll be less grumpy and tired when you wake up."

"Right. That." She nods, and Kara grabs the phone.

"Hi Savannah," she says.

"Hi my love! You're still up with her, hm?"

"Yes. I'm keeping her company until we get there. So far, we've listened to the whole Female Fatale album because someone is loving Britney Spears like her mama," she says. I smile at her.

"Like mother like daughter, they say," she says. I smile.

"You two are just alike. You look the same and act the same. And talk the same."

"Thank god."

"Yes. Cause I don't like Greg. Also. Did you get that thing I sent you?" She asks. I look at her.

"Yes I did! I ordered it, too! It's so cute."

"I know, right! I'm so excited." I tilt my head.

"When is it coming, do you know?"'

"Yeah. Just in time for her birthday!" I look at her again. She looks at me and smiles.

"Eyes on the road, darling," she says. I look her up and down and then look back at the road.

What the fuck?

"Perfect. You're the best, momma Savannah!"

"I know, right?" She smiles and puts my phone back on my holder. I stare at her.

"What's that about?" I ask.

"I don't know!" She says, smiling.

"My birthday is in a week. What the fuck," I say.

"I know!" She smiles.

"I love you. I gotta go. Mollie is dessert!" I tilt my head. She looks up and grins. Also blushes.

"Making me dessert. Making me-" The camera moves. Like they're fighting for the phone.

"No- no- I love you ba-!!" She squeals, laughing. She hangs up the phone, and I shake my head.

"Gross," I say. Kara giggles.

"That's gonna be us, darling. What do you mean?" She asks. I look at her.

"Really?" I ask. She nods.

"When we're in our 40s and have kids. Oh, yeah." I laugh. "We're gonna make it until then, baby. No matter what," she says.

"Kara-" she cuts me off.

"Don't ask, Sage. I'm waiting to ask you."

"Well, yeah. I knew I wanted to ask your mom out, but she wouldn't let me." She laughs.

"Hi, darling," Kara says, coming behind me. I'm standing on the balcony drinking tea. The sky is grey because it's gonna rain.

She sets up my phone and starts recording. I look at it, then her.

"Hi baby," I say, kissing her. There's a gust of wind, and she takes a picture of me.

"Stop!" I say, smiling and looking at her. Another.

"Home Screen and Lock Screen." I smile and look away from her.

"You make me nervous, Kara."

"I know I do, darling. It's adorable." I look at her.
"You're just so pretty. I can't help but compliment you. Or take pictures of you." She puts her back against the banister and leans against it. She looks at me and looks me up and down.

"Like.. this outfit. Short shorts, bikini top, undone button up? Sage you're making my dick hard." I look at her.

"You have a dick?" She looks at me and nods.

"I do. I suffer from BDS."

"What.. is BDS, Kara?" I ask, smiling.

"Big dick syndrome. It's not contagious, don't worry. Um.. I just um.. it's hard-" she starts to fake cry. I look at her in amusement.

"For me to talk about. Because people have threatened to cut it off because it's just so big! I feel like an outcast because I have such a big dick!" I laugh. Hard.

"Kara!!" I say, laughing. She laughs.

"You just look.. really, beautiful, darling." I look at her and smile.

"So do you, Kara. You always do." She smiles.

"And I want to be yours." We hold eye contact.
"Can I be yours? Can I be your girlfriend, Sage?"

"Yes. Yes you may, Kara," I say, smiling. She smiles and kisses me. I hug her, and then it starts to rain. We laugh.

"Dance with me!" She says.

"We need music, my love!" I say smiling. She turns on the night we met.

And then we start dancing in the rain.

Finally, I got the girl.
