Getting Wood

Lukas watched as Jesse drew the flower he'd given him. Jesse had said that what he was drawing was a surprise, but it was pretty obvious how he kept looking from the flower to the paper. Lukas wasn't going to tell him, though.
"Hey, quit staring or you're gonna figure out what it is!" Jesse said.
"Heh, sorry." Lukas looked at the floor instead, but could still see Jesse out of the corner of his eye. He smiled to himself.

Jesse picked an apple from the tree and immediately bit into it.
"Y'know, if my first experience of this jungle wasn't getting lost, then that awkward silence for a whole day, I might actually like it here," Jesse said through chewing. Lukas chuckled and punched another tree.
"Don't worry, we're not staying long. We just need enough jungle wood for a few fences." Jesse punched a piece of wood and picked it up.
"Do we really need jungle wood? Specifically?"
"Well, no, but I want it to look nice," Lukas said, blushing slightly. Jesse chuckled.
"How much do we need, exactly?"
"Uh, a few stacks, at least. This might take longer than I initially thought." Jesse grimaced.
"Let's make this fun then! Whoever gets the most wood gets the first cookies we make," Jesse said, grinning. Lukas's expression became serious.
"Oh, you're on."

Both boys aggressively deforested a good chunk of the jungle before deciding that for the good of their health, they needed a break.
"How- How do you look good even when you're sweating and gasping for air?" Jesse said with a smirk, in between breaths.
"Well- It might turn out to be a blessing someday, right?" Jesse laughed.
"Are you implying what I think you are?" Jesse rested his face in his hand and wiggled his eyebrows at Lukas, who now looked the same as he did when they'd cuddled. They were silent for a few seconds before seemingly in unison they noticed an unattended piece of wood sitting near them. They looked at each other, then back at the wood, then back at each other, before they both got up and sprinted for it.
"Ha! I got it!" Lukas said, before being pretty much tackled by Jesse, who then grabbed it out of his hand and ran. Lukas got up and chased him as it started raining.
"Hey! You're gonna slip!" He yelled to Jesse.
"Who cares? I want those cookies!" Just as Lukas was gaining on Jesse, his concerns proved warranted and he slipped and fell, knocking Jesse down in the process. They both laughed hysterically, and for a second neither of them noticed Lukas was pretty much lying on top of Jesse. Lukas used his arms to prop himself up, Jesse doing the same with his elbows, and only then did they both notice the position they were in. Lukas gulped as Jesse smiled, leaned in, then softly kissed him.

Jesse spent the rest of the day finishing his 'surprise' drawing. Neither of them had mentioned the kiss, but it wasn't exactly awkward either.
"My back still hurts from being unintentionally tackled to the ground," Jesse said, smirking.
"Well, my back still hurts from intentionally being tackled to the ground," Lukas shot back. Jesse laughed.
"Worth it." Lukas smiled as Jesse continued his drawing.

Lukas stuck the drawing to his wall as Jesse sat on the floor impatiently.
"So, what did you say this game was called?" Lukas asked.
"Truth or dare. You pick one, you either have to answer any question I ask or do whatever I tell you. Then you do the same with me, and we take turns." Lukas chuckled and sat on the floor beside Jesse.
"This sounds like it's gonna be embarrassing."
"It totally is. Truth or dare?" Jesse asked.
"Uhh, truth?" Jesse smirked.
"Would you ever let me get a pet?" Lukas calmed down a bit.
"Maybe, it depends on what it is. Definitely not something messy," Lukas said. Jesse chuckled.
"I pick dare." Lukas gulped.
"So you'll do whatever I tell you? Where are the limits?" Jesse rolled his eyes.
"There aren't limits! That's what makes this fun. You could ask me to strip right now and I'd have to. See? Fun!" Lukas looked like a deer in headlights, making Jesse chuckle. "But hey, you're probably too innocent to ask me something like that." Lukas simply gulped.
"U-Um, I dare you to- uh..." Lukas looked around the room for ideas. "Uh, crack an egg on your head?" Jesse laughed, got up and raided a chest before pulling out an egg. He sat back down and, without hesitation, cracked it on his head. Lukas was taken aback for a second, then cleared his throat.
"I guess I'll pick dare too." Jesse gave Lukas a devilish smile, making him immediately regret his decision.
"I dare you to kiss me." Lukas gulped.
"U-uh- sure?" Lukas took a deep breath and leaned in. Their lips connected, and Jesse's hand found its way to the back of Lukas's neck. Lukas pulled away, a blush plastered on his face, but after only a few seconds, their lips connected again. Jesse's hand ran through Lukas's hair as his other hand pulled him closer by the collar of his jacket. Lukas didn't seem to know what to do, he was basically copying Jesse as well as he could. Jesse shifted onto Lukas's lap, and the game they'd been playing had been long forgotten. They pulled apart briefly.
"This- This is okay, right?" Jesse asked. Lukas nodded quickly and they kissed again. Jesse's hand made its way up Lukas's shirt, but before they could go any further, some kind of squeal came from outside. They pulled apart.
"Did you hear that?" Jesse asked.
"Yeah, what was it?"
"I don't know. Let's go check." Jesse stood up and Lukas followed, hiding the fact that he was disappointed. Jesse opened the door and stepped out as another squeal was heard.
"Let's be careful. It could be anything," Lukas said. Jesse nodded as the door closed behind them.
