Truth Then Lie, 2023
We played truth or dare,
I can smell smoke in the air.
The tip of the bottle pointed my direction.
I chose the “truth” with no emotion---
though I'm not good at it, especially for you.“Your fears?” They asked, made me lose my breath.
I looked up, thinking, “death”.
I stared at the ceiling as the fears abided.
They all nodded, not knowing that I lied,
just as you, who believe in my lies, before—
when you're still in my grasp, but not anymore.
‘But I'm not afraid to die, nor of oblivion’---Not until you walk in alighting my fears
I saw your hand on someone else's waist,
holding it firmly, just like what you did to me;
declaring territory---
but with a different girl now.
And that's when the trails of rain
in my eyes started to be interminable.
