Two hands slapped at the last sandwich on the table, with a growl escaping both males at the contact.
"Zeth, surely I need more food, because I am shorter than you and I have the potential to grow." Castor's voice was low, a warning.
They were sitting in the cafeteria for lunch, and currently the two boys had the whole attention of the building. Nyx was burying her face in her hands to try and camouflage (albeit failing), Sebastian was in between the two boys to try and stop their petty argument, and Evira was glaring at the spectators.
"My dear brother Castor," Zeth sighed, "I obviously need more food, because I am taller, more handsome, have better brains than you and therefore need more fuel."
"It's a frickin' sandwich!" Nyx snapped, but cleared her throat at Sebastian's amused face at her outburst. She subconsciously attempted to straighten her hair.
The pixie race was, unfortunately, won by Maeve and her fellow minions, and they were bathing in their glory as they blew fake kisses to Nyx's table. Nyx swore at her, but was unable to do much else with her broken leg.
Maeve stood up and stalked over to Sebastian's table. On one hand, she held a mug of hot coffee, and she used the other to lean on the wooden table and bat her eyelashes furiously at Sebastian. "Babe," she purred, causing Evira to fake gag.
If Maeve noticed it, she didn't acknowledge the sputtering sounds Evira was making. "Why don't we have a night out, just us two." She was obviously rubbing in her relationship to Nyx. Maeve glanced down at Nyx's wheelchair, her eyes glinting but her face in a fake pout. "Oh darling, what happened?"
"You happened, that's what," Nyx spat. "You cheated your way through the race."
Maeve looked like she was going to cry. "Babe, Nyx is bullying me."
Sebastian sighed and ran his fingers through his tangled hair. His face looked tired and fatigued when he sat back down on his seat. "Maeve, I think we should break up."
Her expression was the best thing Evira had seen all morning. Lips in a small 'o', her cheeks red, and her eyes wide. "What?" She whispered, all her friends' eyes on her.
The hall was silent, gulping in the new drama. Evira suspected that dragon-riders couldn't really have much drama except from arguing over which dragon mated with who.
"What has Nyx ever done to you?" Sebastian said. "You didn't need to go so far to hurt her."
Nyx was blushing uncontrollably behind Maeve and Zeth sneakily pulled out his phone and took a picture. When Maeve finally snapped out of her reverie, she pushed past Nyx and purposefully spilled her coffee on her leggings. Evira expected her to recoil at the heat, but Nyx was smirking.
"You gotta try harder than that darling," she purred, mimicking Maeve's high pitched, whiny tone. "I'm used to the heat."
Evira sniggered and took the last sandwich before Zeth and Castor could fight over it again. "Excuse me, boys," she grinned, "I need this meal for that epic burn."

Rain pelted on her skin as she rode her dragon with Zeth on her side. After the loss from the pixie race, Evira was determined to shape up her transformation magic.
"Try turning this into a weapon," Zeth suggested, summoning a rock from his side. It was strange to see him without his brother - they seemed to be inseparable. Zeth's brown hair was dripping wet from the rain above, yet he still managed to look handsome.
"What, checking me out?" he drawled.
"That's cringey and you know it," Evira replied as she twirled her hands at the rock and let it twist into the shape of a knife. The handle glistened with bronze and Zeth stared at it in amazement.
