this chapter's song:
if i could fly one direction

After walking home from school with Jay, Jungwon had rushed into his house, immediately looking for something to wear. Nothing over the top but something nice. This was their first official public date, after all.

Jungwon grabbed all of his collared shirts and button ups and stacked them on his bed. He looked through the pile and picked out a collared white shirt, pulling it over his head. He looked into his body mirror and pursed his lips. "No." He threw the shirt to the side and picked up a simple black button up with white detailing and found black jeans to go with it. "Is this too casual?" He mumbled to himself. He shrugged before changing into the outfit he picked out, walking into his bathroom. He wet his hair and slicked it back, a few strands of his hair laying over his forehead. He quickly sprayed cologne on before hurrying down the stairs, slipping on his shoes as he walked out the front door.

Jungwon closed the door behind him and jumped back on his heels, "You scared me!"

Jay let out a soft chuckle, "Hi."

"Hi."

Jay was wearing a wide-collared white t-shirt under his black blazer with black jeans. He had accessorized with a gold watch. Jay was always so effortlessly stunning and Jungwon couldn't help but stare— especially at his collarbones that were just out and about.

"You should've known by now that I was going to stand out here and wait for you."

"We literally got home from school like half an hour ago."

"Exactly— what took you so long?" Jay asked, a smirk written on his face, "Wanted to look good for me?" He said, leaning closer to Jungwon's face before whispering, "Because you do."

Jungwon swallowed before he scoffed playfully, "Shut up."

"Never." Jay said, poking at Jungwon's dimple.

Jungwon bit onto his bottom lip and smiled, "You look good too."

"Just good?" Jay asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Don't get cocky, Jay."

Jay let out a soft chuckle before asking, "Tell me, how do I look?"

Jungwon sucked onto his bottom lip before saying, "Really good."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

Jay chuckled, combing his hair back with his fingers, "Glad to know my efforts are appreciated."

Jungwon scoffed, "You're so annoying."

"You like it though."

Jungwon shook his head before saying, "I'm starting to regret letting you take me out."

"It hasn't even started, baby."

As much as Jungwon wanted to tell Jay to shut up and say that he was annoying, it was undeniable that he had an effect on him. Jay wasn't for the weak.

They walked across the street to Jay's car, Jay opening the door for Jungwon. Jungwon didn't know whether to cringe or laugh or feel blushed. "What a gentleman." He said in a joking tone.
