TW: continued violence
Eddie's teeth were completely covered in blood, his eyes both nearly swollen shut. He had a cut bleeding like crazy on his cheek bone. He looked scarily hurt.
"Get off of me!" Jason yells, his goons immediately backing away. His voice made everyone go quiet, besides Eddie's laughter. All eyes were now on him, "You are such a freak," Jason chuckles, walking over to them as the crowd makes an opening for him, "Maybe that's why your parents left you. Because no one wants to raise a queer freak like you." He says, bending down to get in Eddie's face, his expression going flat as he lit up with anger.
Steve snapped. That was it for him. He may have been on the floor, but that didn't stop him from upper cutting Jason so hard, he stood up, just to fall backwards, landing flat on his ass next to Steve. Steve quickly got to his feet, grabbing Jason by his shirt, punching him over and over. Robin was about to have a break down. It was her fault. She should have never brought Eddie back to this place knowing people like this were here. They haven't even it made to lunch yet and there were already problems.
How was Jason not unconscious? Well, it was hard to tell if he was or wasn't, until he shoved Steve off of him, kicking him hard. He lands on his back, and before he can sit up, he has a knife to his neck, "And you," He sighs dryly, "You have some nerve talking about my dad," Jason says, pressing the knife into his neck, enough to draw blood, "especially when yours is halfway around the world not giving two shits about you."
"Shut the fuck up." Steve growls, getting a grip around Jason's wrist.
Before Jason could do anymore, the knife is snatched out of his hands, being thrown, whilst he's tackled off Steve. Steve sit's up, seeing Jason getting his ass kicked by Eddie. He's screaming, continuing to hit him even when he was out cold. Robin was able to push through a few people and get him off of Jason.
"We gotta go," Steve whispers to the two as they all get to their feet, "Before the cops come or something." Steve says, grabbing Eddie's bloody hand as Robin follows them to the corridor. They run outside, all racing to Steve's car. Eddie jumps into the back seat with Robin in the passengers and Steve obviously driving. He immediately speeds off, all of them jolting at the sudden hoist.
"Is everyone okay?" Steve asks, nearly out of breath as he finally gets on some main roads.
"Does it fucking look like it, Steve?" Robin says, Steve knowing she was serious considering she swore, which she only did once in a blue moon, "Eddie," Robin begins, turning around to see him passed out, "Shit." She says, crawling into the back seat.
"My seats! Your shoes, Robin!" Steve yelps, afraid Robin was going to dirty his car, "Aw come on," He whines, wiping some dirt from his glove box.
"Hey Eddie?" Robin asks, sitting next to him, leaning closer to look at his face, "Wake up, hey, come on buddy," Robin snaps in his face, "Steve hurry!" She demands the driver.
Steve knew it was against the law, already speeding, but he wasn't about to let anything else happen to Eddie, so he does as he's asked.
"Eddie please," Robin pleads, knowing she couldn't do anything. She's thought about hitting him awake, but he was already in enough pain, and he also didn't deserve it, "Wake up! Wake up Eddie! Come on! Let's go! You gotta wake up!" Robin yells, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him awake. It works, but he can't even open his eyes. He turns his head, groaning drowsily, "There we go, that's It Eds," Robin sighs, finally feeling a bit of relaxation.
"Ah shit," Eddie groans, wiping his face, trying to get the blood off of him.
"No Eddie don't do that!" Robin yelps, smacking his hands away.
Eddie turns away from her in an attempt to go back to sleep, but Robin turns him back, keeping him awake.
"Everything okay?" Steve asks the two in the back, "It got quiet back there."
"Yes Steve, were fine, just keep driving." Robin says, eyes staying on Eddie as he keeps trying to close his eyes that he finally got open.
"We're almost there, stop telling me what to do." Steve huffs, looking at her in the mirror.
"Road Steve." Robin reminds him, and that's exactly where his eyes go as soon as the words leave her mouth.
--------
As soon as the car is parked In Steve's driveway, him and Robin nearly jump out of it, immediately racing to the back to get Eddie, "I got it." Steve smacks her hands away as he opens the door, taking Eddie Into his arms bridal style with the little strength he has left. He pulls him out, adjusting his grip, "Put me down, man, I can walk." Eddie begins to complain, trying to escape the hold Steve had on him, but he was far too weak to really do anything.
"Are you sure? Because according to Robin, you can't even keep your eyes open and stay awake." Steve says, hearing Robin close the door as he then takes a few steps forward, placing Eddie down as gently as possible. Steve keeps his hand on his shoulder for support.
"Get of me, Steve," Eddie tries to swat his hand away, "I said I can walk dude!" He says, pulling away from Steve's grip, almost tripping over himself In the process.
"Eddie, we're just trying to help you." Robin says, quickly getting to his side to help him get at least a little stable.
"Yeah, I know what you're trying to do. You'd think a month alone In a trailer would teach me how to take care of myself," Eddie says, quickly moving away and out of her reach s he gets to the door on his own., "But no, the freak Is so out of his head he can't even do that."
"Don't call yourself a freak. It's not true. You're actually quite the opposite." Steve says, getting ahead of him to unlock the door.
"You only say that because you feel bad. You know I'm a loser." Eddie says, keeping his head down, knowing If he looked up we would most likely get a nasty look from One of the two.
"No I don't. I mean, of course I feel bad for you, you were just beat the crap out of, I just- I don't know why you think so low of yourself when you are literally one of the best people I've had In my life In a long time." Steve admits, not really thinking as he spoke, though It didn't really matter since he proved his point. He gets the door open, stepping In and waiting for Eddie and Robin to follow.
"You must know nothing about me, Stevie," Eddie chuckles angrily, "I don't think, I know. I know that I am a loser and a freak. It's been my title for as long as I can remember, and now when I wake up and look In the mirror, that's all I fucking see." He says, a low rasp In his voice as he speaks. He steps Into the house, walking directly past Steve as he looks around.
"That doesn't make you right, Eddie," Steve says, following him with Robin also tagging along, "You're just convinced, you're not actually what you made yourself think." He continues to argue, actually proving a point.
"Whatever." Eddie scowled, walking over to Steve's kitchen, looking around seeing as It was pretty spacious.
"How about you both sit down and let me fix your faces," Robin follows Eddie, pointing both men to stools at the Island, "I already feel horrible enough and I don't need you guys fighting to make It worse," She says, watching as they both sit down as asked. Robin knows Steve's kitchen like the back If her hand, reaching up Into a cabinet above the stove, a bunch of medical supplies on display.
"Oh god, not this again." Eddie groans, putting his elbows up on the Island and pacing his head In his arms as he sighed.
