I woke up I have no idea how long later with a ringing in my ear and a slight headache. What happened? I don't mess with devil stuff but I didn't expect stepping into a pentagram to do that. I got up once my vision had cleared up a bit. Well, I guess there's only one thing to do: Press on. See if I can find a way out. I picked up the ax which was now leaning against one of the coffins and headed to a door with more wooden boards over it.
I chopped them down and went through the door. There was another staircase that I went down but another old board fell in front of me. If this place starts falling apart while I'm still in it, I'm not going to be happy. Walking forward, I saw another message on the wall saying 'He will set us free'. Who? The thing I saw? I still want to know what that was.
But I'm wondering how this place got so big! I wasn't gone that long and this place looks like it's been abandoned for a while now. Off to the side, I saw another voice recorder. This was by Sammy Lawrence, the songwriter, and director for Bendy. We didn't get along either. Hell, I didn't get along with most people in the company. Only Joey. I played the tape;
'He appears from the shadows to rain his sweet blessings upon me. The figure of ink that shines in the darkness. I see you, my savior. I pray you hear me. Those old songs, yes, I still sing them. I know you are coming to save me. And I will be swept into your final loving embrace. But, love requires sacrifice. Can I get an amen?'
The recording ended but I suddenly heard, clear as day; "I said, can I get an amen?"
I looked around but no one was there.
"Uh, no you may not," I said out loud.
Sammy can't still be here, can he? That would be impossible. I went down a hallway where I saw a Bendy cut-out and behind him was a pentagram. Creepy. I continued on until I saw another hallway full of ink. Well, at least the floor was. I walked into the ink which reached to my ankles and walked forward. Suddenly, a man completely black with white overalls, what looked like a mask, carrying a Bandy cutout walked past the door at the end of the hallway.
I called out to him asking if he could help me but he said nothing and kept walking. I made it to the end of the hallway and looked at where he went. It was a dead end and he wasn't there. Where did he go? But I could still hear his voice echoing around me. Though it sounded like he was spitting out nonsense. I moved on and kept exploring. I found a gate and a lever but it wasn't powered up.
I need to get power to this gate somehow. There should be a couple of switches nearby. Then maybe I can open it. So, I started looking around for the switches. At a guess, I need three. So, I went back to where I started to have a look there. I found a power box next to a couple of coffins. I opened it and flipped the first switch. I then went back upstairs to see if there was anything there but nope.
Back downstairs. I looked around the area to see another power box next to a Bendy Poster. I flipped the switch in there and started looking for the last switch. The last switch was behind a bunch of soup cans. I just moved them aside and flipped the switch. Who even needs this much soup? The whole shelf was full of it. I went back to the gate and flipped the switch to open it.
There I saw just a doorway blocked by wood much like everything else so far. But just as I used the ax to chop it down, I heard a wheezed moan. At least I think that's what it was. I just chopped down the rest and went inside. There was a sign on the wall that said 'Music Department'. Well, now I know where they recorded the songs after I left. There was another voice recorder next to it. Another message from Sammy.
'So first, Joey installs this Ink Machine over our heads. Then it begins to leak. Three times last month, we couldn't even get out of our department because the ink had flooded the stairwell. Joey's solution? An ink pump to drain it periodically. Now I have this ugly pump switch right in my office. People in and out all day. Thanks, Joey. Just what I need. More distractions. These stupid cartoon songs don't write themselves, you know.'
I'm getting a lot of clear signs that no one liked this Ink Machine. Just wish I knew what Joey's motives behind it were. I went down the hall on my left to see a door but it was locked. Of course, it is. I left the hall and found the stairwell that Sammy was talking about. And, he was right, the ink was flooding it. That is annoying.
There is a way to drain it as there was a lever on the wall but it wasn't powered like most of the things in here. I left the stairs and found another hallway that went upwards. I went up to see a desk, a chair, a projector, a tape recorder, and a dark room. How reassuring. I looked at the tape recorder to see it was recorded by someone named Norman Polk. I don't think I ever met him. I played the tape anyway.
'Every day the same strange thing happens. I'll be up here in my booth, the band will be swinging and suddenly Sammy Lawrence just comes marching in and shuts the whole thing down. Tells us all to wait in the hall. Then I hear him. He starts up my projector, and he dashes from the projector booth and down to the recording studio like the little devil himself was chasing behind. A few seconds later, the projector turns off. But Sammy, oh no he don't come out for a long time. This man is weird. Crazy weird. I have half a mind to talk to Mr. Drew about all this, I really do. But then again I have to admit that Mr. Drew has his own peculiarities.'
So he thinks Sammy is a bit of a nutjob. Then again, whatever he was doing back then might help me if I can just find out what he was doing after turning the projector on.
