Maeve stood out front of Chris's school.
Today was the day he had to read his poem to the class.
Chris ran up to Maeve, immediately pulling her into a hug, taking her off her feet and spinning her around.
Maeve laughed.
"So i'm taking it, it went well?" Maeve asked as the two started to walk down the street.
"Yes! I got a 90!" Chris showed her.
"Oh my god! that's so great! Congrats!" Maeve hugged him again.
"Can i read it?" Maeve went to grab the paper but Chris pulled away.
"No!" Chris said.
"Why?" Maeve wined.
"Because it's personal. I'll let you read it one day." Chris said.
"When's one day?" Maeve asked.
"whenever i hand you this paper." Chris hit Maeve in the forehead with it.
"Ow!" Maeve shouted.
"Oh shut up! It's Paper." Chris rolled his eyes.
"Hey! Paper hurts sometimes! their made out of trees!" Maeve said.
"Yeah, i'm not that stupid." Chris said.
"Who said you were stupid?" Maeve asked, pinching his cheeks.
"Aww! How could such a handsome man be stupid?" She spoke in a baby voice.
"So you think i'm handsome?" Chris grinned.
"Slow down buddy." Maeve pushed him.The two walked to Maeve's house where they were gonna watch outer banks.
As Maeve walked in, Caroline and Maddy stood in the kitchen.
"What's wrong?" Maeve asked.
"I got this in the mail." Caroline handed her daughter an envelope. It was an invitation to their father's wedding.
"I got an email from him telling me all about the day he came to visit. Why didn't you tell me?" Caroline asked.
"I didn't think you needed to know. It would've just added on more pressure on you." Maeve said.
"Maeve, I know your angry at your father for not being around but you need to give him a chance." Caroline walked over, placing her hands on Maeve's shoulders.
"We gave him plenty of chances, mom! He just wants us there so he can seem like a good person to his new family." Maeve crossed her arms.
"Maeve, what if he is telling the truth? i need the extra help with you girls." Caroline said.
"So your telling me that i have to go?" Maeve asked.
"Yes. You girls are gonna go and you can bring Chris if you want." Caroline pointed to Chris.
"No way! Me and Chris will not be attending." Maeve shook her head, taking Chris's arm and pulling him towards her.
"Yes you are, missy. I'm the mother and what i say goes. You are going." Caroline said, grabbing her purse.
"Where are you going?" Maeve asked.
"The store. Want anything?"
"Yeah, my freedom of choice." Maeve said.
Caroline rolled her eyes before walking out of the house.
"Look on the bright side, free food and music." Maddy smiled, walking upstairs.
Maeve scoffed, sitting down at the kitchen island.
"Can you believe this?" Maeve asked.
Chris sat next to her.
"No, I cant. I'll go with you if you want." Chris said.
"Can you?" Maeve looked at him.
"Of course!" Chris nodded.
"Ah! Your the best, Chrissy!" Maeve pulled him into a hug.
"I know." Chris smirked.
Maeve laughed, pushing his arm.
Chris always knew how to make Maeve happy when she was upset or stressed. The two sat on her couch, watching Outer banks when Maeve paused it.
"Kie or Sarah?" Maeve asked.
"Sarah." Chris answered.
"Mkay. John b or Jj?"
"Jj."
"Hm. Pope or Rafe?"
"Pope. What?"
"Me or Pepsi?"
Chris froze.
Maeve started dying laughing.
"Your face!" She stuck her finger in his face.
"Stop!" Chris grabbed her hand as she let her head hit his chest.
"I can't. Your face oh my god." Maeve laughed.
"You." Chris spoke.
Maeve stopped laughing and looked up at him.
"What?" She furrowed her eye brows.
"I pick you over pepsi." Chris said.
"No way you just said that to me." Maeve laughed.
"I'm deadass. I pick you." Chris said.
Maeve smiled.
"Your too charming!" She groaned.
Chris laughed.
"Thank you for choosing me over pepsi." Maeve grabbed his hand, intertwining their fingers.
"Your my best friend, Maeve." Chris smiled.
"Your mine too, Chris." Maeve placed her head on his shoulder.
Maeve should be upset about having to go watch her father get married to another women but for some reason she wasn't. She was happy and she knew it was because of Chris. He always knows how to make good in every bad situation and she admired that about him. He was always positive and made her feel better about anything. He makes her better and she hoped that she does the same for him."Should i feel upset?" Maeve asked.
"About what?" Chris asked.
"About the wedding. For some reason i'm not upset." Maeve said.
"I can't tell you why you don't feel a certain way." Chris said.
"I think it's because of you." Maeve stood up.
"What?" Chris furrowed his eye brows.
"I think the only reason i'm not upset is because i'm with you." Maeve repeated.
"You think?" Chris smiled.
"No, i know. You make me happy." Maeve said.
"That's great but why are you telling me this?" Chris asked.
"Cause i want you to know that i'm the happiest when i'm with you." Maeve smiled.
Chris stood up and looked at her, placing a kiss on
her lips.
"I'm the happiest when i'm with you too, Maeve." He spoke softly.
Maeve smiled at him.
"I'm glad." She said.
"I am too." Chris nodded.
"Can we get ice cream to celebrate?" Maeve asked.
"Sure." Chris shrugged.
Maeve laughed. The two walked to the ice cream shop and sat, eating and talking. Maeve quickly realized that Chris was her person. They were meant to be and she couldn't wait for the way she gets to call him hers. They made each other happy and they made each other smile. Some people would kill for their kinda relationship. That's what made them so special.
They were soulmates.
