Momo's POV:

I was waiting for someone in front of a building named Vampire Academy. I glanced at my wristwatch and just then, I heard the sound of a bell-

DING!! DING!! DING!!

A few moments after the bell rang, a huge crowd of students headed towards the front door of the school where I was standing. I quickly stepped backwards so as to allow all the students to disperse freely.

In a couple of minutes, all the students had dispersed from my sight, but the one who I was waiting for didn't appear. Realizing this filled my heart with worry and nervousness.

"W-Where's Yuki?!?!" These words automatically came out of my mouth.

I was scared so I carefully eyed the school floors through the windows. Yuki was nowhere to be found. I-Is she in some kind of trouble? Maybe she's just completing her school work? W-What if she tripped on the bathroom floor and got hurt? I should probably go inside and inform the teacher-

Just when I was going through a literal mental breakdown, I felt a light tap on my shoulder. So I turned around and-

"Surprise!!!" Yuki said, as she hugged me tightly.

"Y-Yuki?! Are you okay? You didn't get hurt or something, right?" I asked, my voice filled with astonishment.

"Yep, I'm perfectly fine, why do you ask?"

"Because you appeared after all the students already went home. So I thought that you might have been caught in some trouble."

"No no, I just wanted to surprise you." She said, while chuckling.

A sigh of relief left through my lips. Seriously, this girl-

"You idiot! Do you know how much I was worried about you? Never do such a thing again, okay?" I said, my voice a bit higher than before.

"Sorry for making you worry, I'll not do such a thing again, I promise!!" Yuki replied.

"It's okay, it's okay. Come on, let's go."

As I said this, we held hands and started walking towards our home. After a few moments, my eyes fell upon Yuki. She had grown so much in the past 3 years. Now 8 years old, she already reached till my chest. Her icy white hair were now longer, too.

As I shifted my gaze from Yuki, I observed the city around me. It had developed quite a lot in the past 3 years, as well. A few skyscrapers could be seen, while there were now many four to five storey buildings around. The grocery shops possible to be managed by a single person turned into supermarkets, which were managed by multiple people.

Lots of developments were happening in the fields of technology, communication and infrastructure. To pay Yuki's school fees, I began a job as a tuition teacher and a waitress. It's pretty difficult to handle two jobs at the same time simultaneously, but I got used to it over time.

However, as Yuki moved on to upper grades, the cost of the school fees increased, too. So I needed to find a job that offered a higher pay than both of my current ones combined. Since the technology department made a debut in our city recently, the demand for employees was high. Seeing this as an opportunity, I started taking computer classes, to be capable for the job in the technology department.
