"That dome is huge!" Jay screamed when we could see it. There were colorful banners and lights, an elegant staircase up to the entrance, and shrubbery that complimented the surroundings. There was a bulletin-board with pinned signs indicating the show that was being performed, including a page about the characters inside.
"It seems to be an auditorium," Isaac commented.
"For what?" Mai asked, as if we would know.
Isaac went up to the flyer by the signs and it aloud, "'Meet the Puppet Master...?' Who's the Puppet Master?"
"Is it black and white?" I asked. Isaac nodded and moved out of the way to let me see. Sure enough, the supposed Puppet Master looked similar to what the security puppet looked like, but I could only see the upper part of its face, just a bit beneath its black eyes.
"It's probably just a different version of the puppet," I answered.
"What the hell is the puppet?" Mai asked.
"Uhm... it was a security thing back in the day," I explained. "I guess it's not too surprising that Michael would bring it back."
"It's not just the puppet," Jay said, and he brought over a flyer he found. There were two characters in it, I recognized them almost immediately from their color pallets.
"Sun and Moon? The daycare attendants?" Mai said, confused.
"They look more like jesters," Isaac said. He was right. The general design with their round heads and slim bodies were the same, but their designs leaned even heavier into the jester theme than before, and their faces were exaggerated much more than previously.
"If Tyler's in there..." I murmured aloud. If all three of them were in there at once, then he must be terrified out of his mind, if not already dead.
Isaac stopped me from finishing my thought. "We're going in," he declared. Before any of us could say anything, he started walking up the steps.
"We should try to come up with a plan," Mai suggested, beginning to walk behind him.
"No time. I'm getting Tyler, even if it kills me," Isaac said. I understood he was determined to find him, but it was easy to see through his facade of courage. His knees were shaking and his voice trembled. He was letting his fear get in the way of his judgment,
"Alright, I guess we're going in, then," Jay said, climbing up the stairs. I followed closely behind them, keeping an eye and ear out for anything strange.
Isaac swung the doors open, examining the inside of the lobby. There were stations of merchandise and food courts in the hallway that circled around the circumference of the auditorium. He went to the closest entrance to the theater for us to follow him, ignoring the furniture around him.
"Woah, this is so cool!" Mai shouted. "I feel like I'm about to go to a concert!"
A concert? I supposed that was one way to put it. There were stairs that led to the overhang of extra seats. This place felt even bigger on the inside.
Isaac already opened a door into the seating area. I ran up to join him as Mai and Jay dragged a bit slower behind us.
The auditorium was big, much bigger than the tent I was under when I first woke up. It had a semicircle of seats that lowered in like bleachers, easily being able to hold hundreds of people. The entrance that we came through was one of four that were evenly spaced out on the perimeter of the seats. The stage itself was deep with a catwalk above, cables flying out and about that attached to the overhang and parts of the ceiling. The curtains on the stage were pushed to the side to let us see the enormous platform, but it felt intimidating.
