"I mean you're not the same. You never swear, you're usually shy, and would definitely never ask me to marry you. You're acting like a completely different person. Can an accident really change someone this much?" He had contemplated not saying anything to her, just in case she was an imposter. But he had a gut feeling this was the girl he had grown rather fond of over the past few months, he knew his students well enough now to know whether it was them or someone else. But how can he say that now when she's acting completely different.
"Well, I mean I wouldn't know if I was acting different, so I don't know why I am. I still don't even know what happened in the accident, let alone knowing who I used to be. Or even who you are. Maybe the accident caused some sort of personality change? Or maybe I've always been like this I just hid it from everyone. Who knows at this point?" There was a pause between them. "You never answered my question. Who are you?"
"My name is Shota Aizawa, and I'm your teacher at U.A high school." After he said that, something clicked in his mind. "Do you... remember what a quirk is? And what quirk you have?"
She paused and thought again but shook her head. She felt like she should know what a quirk was but couldn't place her finger on it. She looked at him again, waiting for him to explain.
"A quirk is basically a superpower. 80% of the population have one, and most generally only have one quirk but some people can have two or more. You go to a school where we train you to become hero's who protect the city from quirk users gone rogue. There's a law where you can't use your quirk out in public unless you have a hero licence, which you have." He waited for her to process the information and for any questions she had. She thought for a while, until she finally smiled, it was the sort of smile you'd see on a child when they opened their gifts at Christmas and got exactly what they wanted.
"You're telling me I have superpowers?? That's awesome! What's my quirk? Do I have one or more? Oh I don't even care if I just have one that's more than enough for me!!" She practically jumped in her bed, shaking from excitement she stared at him with a big grin waiting for his answers. A small smile came to his face at her excitement, he had never seen her so happy even though she used to smile all the time.
"You only have one quirk, it's a fairly common one but yours is rather strong which is why you're almost top of your class. You have the power of telekinesis, you control stuff with your mind, and your pretty damn good at it... I just hope your amnesia hasn't affected how well you can use it..." He trailed off at the sad thought of her losing her amazing gift. But she was ecstatic.
She looked around the room for something to control, when her eyes landed on one of the many unopened cards on her nightstand. She stared at it intently and imagined it lifting into the air. And it did just that, her eyes following its movements intently, she brought it towards her and opened it with her mind, taking the letter out and having it hover in front of her face for her to read.
It was a get well soon card from someone called 'Kirishima', it was red and smelled of toffee. She smiled at the little drawing of a shark on the side of the card. She may not know who wrote it for her, but she still found it incredibly sweet.
She turned back and looked at all the other cards and one by one they all floated in the air and towards her. Soon she had every letter open and hovering around her, making sure to read each and everyone of the sweet letters, each having a different colour, and some even having scents like cake and perfume.
There was promise of a cake in 'Sato's' letter, a puppy play date with 'Koda' and another play date with 'dark shadow', along with other promises. She was more looking forward to re-meeting all the people the cards were from than the promises that were made.
Aizawa had been watching her the entire time, relief flooding him as he watched her use her quirk just fine, and though they were small, she was controlling a lot of things at once. He was proud. He wanted to take her back to the dorms seeing as she was fine, so he went to stand up to go speak to the doctors about when she could be released, when suddenly the doctor from earlier walked through the door after politely knocking first of course.
He stared almost in awe of what he was seeing, but soon smiled at the two. She looked at him for a second, briefly making eye contact for the first time, but she soon turned her attention back to the cards.
"Ah I see your responsive now. And it seems you can use your quirk just fine, which is very good news. All we need to do now is see how well you can walk, and we should be able to get to dismissed right away." The nurse from before trailed in behind the man with a wheelchair, smiling but not looking up after still being a bit freaked out from earlier, and after seeing the room filled with floating cards when she briefly glanced up.
"Let's get you up then, shall we?" She closed her eyes and smiled timidly. After hearing this, the girl made all the cards form a neat pile on her nightstand.
