Harry was just strolling through the city while Ava was in kindergarten and Niall was having lunch with Sierra and Zayn. They had asked him if he wanted to tag along but he had kindly declined because he was on a mission. He needed a job.

He had told Louis that he was working part-time in a small shop, but that was a lie and he didn't have the guts telling him that he was jobless at the moment and had trouble finding anything. Until now he had always managed to dump the questions somehow or been able to talk his way out, but he couldn't do that for any longer especially when it would be conspicuous that he couldn't buy Ava anything.

Just as he exited a small photo studio after handing over his application his phone buzzed. He fumbled it out of his pocket and sighed when he saw Trevor's name on the screen. Trevor wasn't overly happy that Harry spent three days with his daughter and two nights at his friend's but he couldn't forbid him to see Ava, so Harry had to deal with control calls.

"Hi, Trev." He greeted his boyfriend with a neutral voice.

"Hey, baby. What are you doing right now? I was wondering if you wanted to have lunch and then go for a walk along the Thames." Trevor said into the phone happily.

Harry quirked a surprised eyebrow.

"Oh, really? Uhm, I'm in the city right now, searching for a job." Harry said. "But I wouldn't say no to a nice meal." He chuckled.

"Great! Text me your location and I'll be there as soon as I can." Trevor said happily before hanging up.

Harry sent him his location before sitting down on the brim of a near fountain to wait for him. His heart skipped a beat because Trevor seemed to be in a good mood and actually wanted to do something together which was a rarity. He was mostly working and if he wasn't then he was out with his friends what Harry didn't mind, but sometimes he missed the closeness and attention of the person he loved.

In some situations he thought back to his time with Louis where they were lying on the couch watching random movies and just enjoying each other's presence or when he surprised him with flowers. Louis had always made sure to grant him every wish and was loving and caring all the time, he never raised his voice against him or interrogated him when he was out with friends from University or anything. Harry knew he shouldn't compare Trevor to Louis but sometimes he just couldn't help it and in those times he got painfully aware of what he had lost, not even starting with his daughter he had left behind.

He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice Trevor approaching him, only when he slightly touched his arm and Harry jumped.

"Hey, scaredy cat. What were you thinking about?" Trevor asked amused as he leaned down and pecked his lips.

"Oh, nothing. Just praying that I get the job at that small photo shop." Harry said quickly and put on a smile.

"I'm sure you will, babe." Trevor said. "Come on, I'm hungry." He pulled on his arm and Harry almost stumbled over his feet but grabbed Trevor's hand just in time to steady himself. He scowled but didn't comment on his impatience.

They went to have lunch in a small restaurant and then took a walk just how Trevor wanted. They were walking with their hands intertwined while Trevor was telling stories from his work, talking with no end and Harry listened, humming when it was appropriate or chuckling when necessary. It was always like this and Harry was glad about it, he didn't have anything to say anyway apart from talking about Ava but he knew that Trevor didn't want to hear anything about her, let alone about his friends that were also friends with his ex who Trevor was jealous of without even knowing a single detail about him.

"Can you drop me off at Niall's?" Harry asked when they halted in front of Trevor's car.

"Who's Niall?" Trevor asked suspiciously.
