This night was only getting worse.

You had immediately felt regret in not pushing yourself out there to accompany Jacob to get food and drinks from the gift shop. The moment he announced he would be heading over there with Emma, a dagger flew right through your already aching heart.

Why should you feel that evil serpent attack you at your best moments? It wasn't even Emma's fault for going with him. She got stuck in that position, why were you upset with her?

Still, you couldn't stop the tormenting apparitions haunting your mind.

He didn't like you.

He never did.

"Hey, Y/N, yoo-hoo..?" a hand reached your vision and waved sporadically, "you there?"

You shook your head to see Dylan waving his left hand around; his bracelet whacking you slightly in the nose.

"We lost you there, bud," Dylan crouched down slightly, "everything good?" All you could do was nod.

"'mkay, " he smiled, "sure nothing was on your mind?"

"Nope. Nothing."

He merely sat himself down right beside you, and you let out a deep exhale. Eventually Abi and Nick sat themselves down after dropping the kindling they picked up along the way in the startings of a fire.

"Hey, what's taking Jacob and Emma so long?" Dylan piped up, "it's not that hard to find good drinks and food, is it?"

"Jacob's probably talking to her in hopes he gets her back," Kaitlyn rolled her eyes, "when he knows that's a lost cause."

You didn't know why, but you could feel that same pang in your heart.

"Sounds like Jacob," Nick turned his head and stretched his arms out slightly.

Stop talking about it.

A jab at your side made you wince and your head reeled to see Dylan hold a comforting grin on his face.

"Hey. Take it easy, Romeo," Dylan's whisper quieted your thoughts, "she doesn't like him like that."

"How do you even know that?" you questioned in the same whispered tone he gave.

"Oh? You don't believe me?" Dylan raised his head, "hey Abi!"

Oh, shit. Don't even--

"Emma doesn't like Jacob, right?"

Crap.

"Uh," she paused, lifting her head from her sketchbook, "I think that's for Emma to say."

"Abi, spit it out," Kaitlyn sighed, "we all know she doesn't like him anymore."

Stop it. You're only making it worse. Stop it.

"I--" she dropped her head, "no. She doesn't."

I can't handle this anymore. Wh-- what?

"You 100% sure?" Dylan asked, a smirk feeling its way up his face.
